I only just read your backstory and this thread, Kaitlyn… I’m up to speed now. I’m so proud of the way you handled staff meeting… absolutely graceful! You get a gold star _and_ a smilie face for that! Mr. P sounds like a wonderful boss, and a good friend. I sincerely hope the parent meeting goes smoothly, without any insensitive or inconsiderate remarks. Oh, one more thing… would you be willing to move to my home town so you can be my future kid’s teacher? ---

Kaitlyn, I didn’t know your background before reading this thread. Going by the title I’d assumed you meant it was your \*very first day \* teaching, and I thought “God, someone’s going to get eaten alive!” One of my favorite scenes in _Kindergarten Cop_ is when Arnie’s partner tells him to take off his gun. He says "They’re kindergarteners, how much trouble can they be?’ To which she replies “On second though, take the gun.” Sounds like you have a cool boss to back you up. And I like the earlier suggestion to make a movie/story out of this. 😃 We have authors, film and camera people, and so on. Even me, I could cater to the production crew! Just got to pick which Dopers go in which role. Of course **Kaitlyn** has to play herself! ---

Plan period whlie the little ones are at PE. Nothing new to report from my class. My students seem to regard the subject of my sexual identity as being _so_ yesterday. Mr. VP told me to expect a couple of sixth grade boys to be stopping by to apologize later on for “improprer pronoun usage”. I’ll update and answer questions after school. ---
