No! NO! NOOOOOOOO!!! It can’t be over!!! I just spent two+ hours reading all this after it was threadspotted and I feel so empty now. The saga ends? OK wait a second… MC has not called her office AT ALL? Just told someone to come by and pick up her last check? Doesn’t this strike anyone as extremely weird? How long has she worked there? I’ve gotten the impression that she’s not easily embarrassed so whats the deal? ---

I was wondering about that - person calls the office, claims to be the friend of MC, and gets the check. Next day, MC _shows up_, and demands her check. “I didn’t authorize you to give that check to anyone!”. LAWSUIT. I have never worked anywhere that would give a check out to anyone but the employee without prior, written authorization. MC wants someone else to pick up her check? Tough beans\*\*. She needs to get it herself. \*\* (something else known to cause 'Harry Pooter 😃 ) ---

I’m sure you’re not alone in hoping MC will be forced to show up in person for her last paycheck, but if she were to call and ask that it be deposited in her account I’m sure they would do that. Much easier to do that than come to town just for one little paycheck. Her personal belongings are another matter. It sounds like it was a lot of material, and I doubt the company wants to pay shipping if she asks them to send it somewhere. Of course teddy bears and poems are pretty plentiful almost anywhere in the US, so she may not want any of it. ---
