# MLB: 2013 Postseason

I just want to inquire again about setting times for the games. MLB has not yet announced start times for any of the four Game 3s in the Division Series, which will take place this coming Sunday and Monday. I know of one person personally (no, not me) who is trying to figure out if he has to take Monday off in order to attend a possible Game 4 for which he has tickets, or if the game would be played later in the evening.
How late does MLB usually hold off on these things? Is it purely about maximizing ratings? The only question left regarding that round is whether it will involve the Rays or Indians in the AL, and both teams are in small markets in the Eastern Time Zone. So I am having a hard time figuring out what MLB is waiting for in this case.

The question is how many of the series will still be going on after the first Game 3s are completed. If there are four games on the day, the broadcasts will be all spread out as they are for Friday. If one series has ended in a sweep, there will be no game in the earliest slot, but the arrangement of the remainder may be different depending on which teams are alive.

I understand that games _after_ Game 3 are questionable. What I don’t understand is why we don’t currently know what time the Game 3s themselves are, since they are a certainty to be played, and since the location of all but one of them is already known.

The networks would want bigger markets over smaller, decisive games over non- , and buzzier teams over less. So…

Every game will be the 7th game of the WS with the Yankees facing the Dodgers with Yasiel Puig getting thrown out at home by Alex Rodriguez who is actually using steroids on the field.

All right, I can’t explain why Sunday’s two NL games don’t seem to have times set. Monday’s AL Game 3s are theoretically subject to changes in the NL picture.
Hey, if it were up to me it would be a simple matter of longitude, but they don’t work that way.

I’m actually going to root for the Pirates. They don’t have the rapist thing going on, and they mirror our futility in playoff wins and appearances. Plus, they beat us and I hate the stupid Cardinals. So for me, it’s go Pirates! It’s not the same as hating the Steelers. The Pirates have been more pathetic than the Reds and I can’t help but root for the underdog. GO PIRATES!

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like if MLB is going to go to a double wild card it should at least be best of three and not a single game. They’ve already got the World Series going into November; what’s another week?

Even though it’s my team on the wrong side of this one, I think the one game play-in is appropriate. Give the division winners something to work for.

Well, that’s pathetic. Hardly any Tribe fans show up during the year until a playoff game, and then some loser throws his drink at an opposing player? I will feel bad for the Tribe if they lose, but not for so-called “fans” like that. Grow up.

I went to a playoff game in 2007 and I’m not really inclined to go to one again. It’s a totally different set of fans at those games than all the other games I go to. While I’m glad to see the stadium nice and full when we’re on national TV, I am not too pleased when the dingleberry frat boys and their friend Angry Old White Guys show up to throw beer (something they did in 2007 too, just on Boston fans not players).
Anyhoo, great fun this year. Can’t WAIT til next year - it’s going to be even more specialer!
I’m totally in it for the Pirates now. My cousin’s kids are huge fans and it’d be pretty neat to see them get their dream so early in life (especially for Pirates fans!)
I just refuse to say “Go Pi\*\*sburgh” or anything. Rooting for the PIRATES not their CITY! 🙂

This has been one of the great mysteries of Pirate fans everywhere. He was a huge fan favorite, had a lot of post-season success, and he WS still throwing in 2011, and he wasn’t making huge money ( by baseball standards, anyway.). I think it boiled down to the fact that he was a knuckleball pitcher, he was hard to catch, and he was not as consistent in the early 90’s as he became with the Red Sox.
I think the Red Sox picked him up as a free agent, and he had a pretty good career. Over 200 wins. I always rooted for him, because he was a genuinely nice person who appreciated every day he was in the big leagues. He was a Pirates outfield prospect, and he started fooling around with the knuckleball in the minors. When it was clear that he wasn’t going to get to the majors with his bat and glove, he started pitching and made it to the majors with that knuckleball. He was great against Atlanta in '92.

Well, welcome to the Pirate bandwagon! I understand you anger and hatred for the Steelers and their fans. Getting pounded by them on a regular basis, and winning 6 super Bowls while your team hasn’t won one is hard for any Cincinnati or Cleveland fan. Us long-time Pirate fans are different, because we know what true suffering is.
I forgot to ask you… What the HELL was up with Dusty Bakers eye glasses he was wearing at the press conference? He looked like he was wearing something from the Gloria Vanderbilt collection. They were definitely ladies glasses.

Yeah, that was a shame. It’s too bad that one drunken fan has to give the entire city a black eye. I don’t know if the fans pointed out the guy who tossed the beer or not, but I’d like to think they did. I hate stuff like that.

I’ll also be rooting for the Pirates. I’ve seen nearly their entire roster play here in Indianapolis (their AAA affiliate), and it’s great to see them succeed.

Congratulations! Never been to a playoff game. Hope it works out for you and Boston.
I am in cow heaven. Two games today and two tomorrow! I am just hoping I can find a cantina that has it on. I don’t have cable.
