…and yet the move ultimately produces a home run. Granted it might not have been needed/as important if Lester hadn’t given up the two runs, but if that isn’t sports in a nutshell then I don’t know what is. I would keep Lester in for the 7th and pray he gets out clean. Then bring in Arrieta for the 8th and the Cuban Missle Crisis for the 9th ---

But these guys have seen Lester several times in the series as well. My thought is that I don’t care if I have Cy Young fresh in the bullpen; I know that Hendricks is pitching well tonight. Maybe Cy won’t be on tonight. Why take away what is working well in the hopes that a change will be just as good? The four run lead was a cushion in case Hendricks got in trouble, then the bullpen could shut it down. If Lester gets lit up, what then? Bring on Chapman for a four inning save? It may very well work out fine and we won’t talk about it after tonight, but the move seems uncommonly silly to me. ---

As a neutral watcher (although I am pulling for the Cubs) this game has been fantastic. Tons of drama and action and I couldn’t be happier with the situation. Game 7! Cubs! Indians! History! ---

Using starters are relievers in the world series isn’t anything new. It was happening before MadBum (although he did it best), but it just seems like a panic button move where there didn’t need to be one. I mean, it’s worked out fine since that first half inning…but still… ---

I disagree with this as well, but not as vehemently as before. It’s not completely unheard of for a closer to get an extra out, and I would want to keep chapman on the bench as long as possible, and this is about as soon as I’d allow. Let’s hope this decision ends up working out ---
