That was the first time I’d seen Alex Wood pitch and I hate his delivery. He exposes the ball way too much. Seems to be better suited for the bullpen because I think he can only be effective once through the lineup. Speaking of which, LAD’s bullpen also sucked. ---

Especially the bad luck that it took for the injury to happen. The ball was just hit in the perfect place to cause a nasty collision. The good news for Schwarber is that ACL reconstructions have an excellent track record. I wouldn’t expect it to affect his performance after the recovery. ---

Those in-the-gaps are supposed to be the CF’s ball, but if he can’t quite get there… Lousy break for the Cubs–I feel bad for him and for them, even though I’m a Cardinals fan. ---

LOL. Some major leaguers apparently need instruction in the [infield fly rule](http://m.mlb.com/video/v578639583/phinym-mets-take-advantage-of-infield-fly-rule/?game_pk=446921). The Phillies are not a team that can afford to give away unnecessary outs. ---

Ross Stripling, making his Major League debut for the Dodgers, has pitched 7.1 no-hit innings against the Giants tonight. After giving up a walk on his 100th pitch of the night, up 2-0, he’s just been pulled. The Giants fans gave Dave Roberts a hearty round of boos as he took the ball. ---

As a fan I agree I was bummed when the kid got pulled but with 100 pitches and just coming back from Tommy John in a downpour that could have had his arm tighten up between innings I understand why it happened. Of course now we’re looking at extras and the manager getting tossed. Talk about the game taking a weird left turn. ---
