It’s kinda lousy for opening day weather wise in most of the USA. Cubs/Brewers got their game in, I wouldn’t want to be watching baseball in the weather today at Wrigley. Nationals/Mets in a rain delay, they might get this one in. But, it’s baseball. It’s not the same as 2021 opening day and the hopes of a return to normal life, but starting slow (opening against the Masters) is fine, fairly soon the season will be in full swing, temperatures will rise and all will be good. ---

Bobby Witt Jr. had a great debut game, hitting a go-ahead RBI double in the 8th. I’m excited to watch his career, he seems like the real deal. My step-brother had the hardest job in baseball yesterday. He’s the Royals’ field announcer, and had the job of being the first person to announce the Cleveland Guardians lineup. I know I’d definitely slip up with an “Indians” in there. I like the name, but it sure is hard to get used to. ---

Hell of an opener so far for the Jays; they were losing 6-0 to Texas after two innings, with Jose Berrios getting only one man out before being yanked. It was 7-0 soon after. Now it’s 8-8. Both teams have made any number of weird mistakes. ---

Yanks won a fun one in 11 innings over the Red Sox. Tied it back up 3 times before finally winning. I hate the extra innings ghost runner for the record. ---

I’ve known since the 70s that the DH in the NL was inevitable. I’m still baffled how the ghost runner survived for at least one more year. I assume it’s because of the late start and wanting to avoid the rare 17 inning game when there’s not much room in the schedule for make up games ---
