the old ‘first baseman has the ball’ trick? Or is that just the movies? I think The Bad News Bears is the only place I’ve seen it.

It’s usually called the [Hidden Ball Trick](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_ball_trick) and it happens from time to time.
