Not a Cubs fan. I’m a baseball fan… from Boston. But I did notice that the Cubs have 7 of the consensus top 100 prospects – 2 in the top 10, 5 in the top 50. The MLB club already has young talent on it, and the Cubs are a big market team with money to spend.

So yes, I’d rate the Cubs as a team that is well-positioned to contend in a year or so… and contend for a while.
