MLB Hot Stove / Offseason / Lockout 2021-2022

Gads. Even when I was a teenager, in the late '70s and early '80s, I got really sick of the “NBC Game of the Week” seemingly being Yankees-Red Sox every third week. They’ve been strangling that goose for half a century or more.

But if they’re in a Sunday morning game, that’s one Sunday night when we won’t have to watch them!

Don’t tempt them, day/night doubleheaders are a thing.

I will try to remain optimistic. But, NBC was horrible with the Sunday AM NHL contract. Always the same 6 teams.

MLB schedule 2022: Every Sunday morning baseball game on Peacock, matchups, what to know (nbcsports.com)

The Yankees and Red Sox each appear once, and no games between the two. So, more like “I hope you’re ready for the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers,” who each appear three times in this Sunday morning package.

Yeah, that’s for ESPN to show multiple times  . But I would imagine that the Yankees and BoSox (who owns their regional broadcasters) would object far more strenuously to NBC peeling off some more local games.

IMO, this is bad baseball management by Cashman. Publicly stating what was offered to a player is trying to make them look bad/greedy. That’s not a great strategy for keeping a player they seem to want.
