PETA always makes my eyes roll whenever it helpfully pops up with one of these weird alternative terms. But, just like I’m not going to say “bring home the bagels” or “take the flower by the thorns” instead of “bring home the bacon” or “take the bull by the horns,” I’m not going to take them up on this suggestion, either. ---

On the other hand, it would liven up baseball if the penalty for a blown save was to be slaughtered in the bullpen.
