Seems like [my doubts](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/mlb-offseason-thread-2024-2025/1009526/118) about the wisdom of the A’s big off-season signing of Luis Severino (3 years, $67 million) may have been justified.

After Saturday’s loss to the Giants (5 ER in 4 1/3 innings), Severino is now 2-10 on the season with a 5.30 ERA and leads the AL in earned runs and hits given up.
