And that 0.74 ERA is lower than his 0.79 WHIP. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that before - certainly not after 61 IP. Insane. ---

Aaron Judge has a stress fracture of a rib, he’s expected to miss 4-6 weeks and maybe more. Spencer Jones is likely to be called up, but no decision yet. ---

They had feared he had thoracic outlet syndrome (which is what ended Stephen Strasburg’s career), which would have kept him out for the rest of the season, so I guess a stress fracture is better. Nasty collision last night between Max Muncy and Ildemaro Vargas that took both players out of the game. Had the pitcher been covering first, it likely wouldn’t have happened. Thankfully, everyone appears to be okay. ---

The A’s played their first regular-season game ever in Las Vegas yesterday; they are playing two series this week in their minor league affiliate’s ballpark, as a prelude to the planned move to Vegas in 2028. The Brewers and A’s combined for 34 hits and 11 homers, with Milwaukee winning 15-14 in 11 innings. The Mariners just played a series in Detroit. During each game the Detroit fans would break out in chants of “USA, USA!” Since both teams were based in the USA, I had a hard time understanding their point. Does anyone know? I’ve been to a lot of MLB games, and never encountered this particular way of cheering. ---
