Yeah, this is a weird one. It should be pretty easy to confirm whether Martin threw any balls back to the pitcher following foul tips, and while that wouldn’t confirm all of the complaint, this sounds like a case of an umpire taking things too far.

Colorado’s Carlos Gonzales is finishing off an incredible month tonight with a homerun (four in four consecutive at bats), double, single and stolen base. He’s at .332/14/44/8 steals/a slugging % around .640 and an OPS around 1.03. With Matt Kemp on the DL again, Gonzales has to be the leader in the MVP race.

He’s first in the league in runs, RBI, and slugging, and in the top three in average, HR’s and OPS.
