I don’t think there is much question Betts is better than Lindon, but don’t think it matters much. Betts signed at a time when it was unclear what the pandemic would do to salaries. Now it pretty clear that top end players are still going to get paid. Betts gets more if he signs today. I think the Mets offer to Lindor is reasonable, but I don’t blame him if he wants to test free agency. I don’t see as a particularly big risk on his part. Unless he gets seriously hurt he should at least get something similar to what the Mets are offering. ---
