The Cubs did not play at “Wrigley Field” until 1927, twenty years after their last World Series title, though they did win a National League pennant in the same ballpark in 1918. The _first_ major league championship flag in the ballpark then known as Weeghman was flown exactly 100 years ago, and [not by the Cubs](http://newcity.com/2012/07/05/tale-of-the-whales-the-forgotten-story-of-chicagos-original-north-side-ballclub/). ---

If I am any pitcher with any chance of facing the Toronto Blue Jays in the postseason I would be watching Yovani Gallardo really closely. Whatever the hell he knows about getting the Jays out, it works. ---

Hustletown is a dynamic team, I won’t be surprised to see them make a fight with any opponent here. I did expect the Jays to control their series out of the gate. I know it’s not thought to be anything of concern, but Donaldson and Bautista both getting banged up and pulled from the game feels a little ominous. ---

Donaldson’s collision looked painful and I was surprised he wasn’t yanked immediately. That’s baseball. As Joaquin Andujar said, you can sum baseball up in one word; youneverknow. For all we know Donaldson won’t play today and they’ll have to play Cliff Pennington and he’ll go 3-for-4 with two RBIs. ---
