I’d say offense-pitchers/defense-rules is probably the right order. Also, St. Louis had Wrigley Field-level winds this week. ---

Also regarding Dodger fans, and unusual behavior: At Thursday night’s season opener, a fan jumped onto the field from the outfield seats, and then dropped to one knee to propose marriage to his girlfriend, who was in the stands. In mid-proposal, security guards rushed in, and slammed him to the ground. Max Scherzer followed up a shaky first start against the Marlins by throwing batting practice against the Brewers tonight, at one point giving up three consecutive home runs (to Rowdy Tellez, Brian Anderson, and Garrett Mitchell - not exactly murderers row). Justin Verlander is out indefinitely with an out-of-nowhere injury. Edwin Diaz got hurt during a hug. The Mets haven’t scored a run in their last 20 innings and have dropped their last two by a combined score of 19-0. I know there’s no such thing as curses. I know. I know, right? ---

I love most of the city unis. The Rockies are awesome, and the Twins’ have a really cool old-timey feel to them. I guess I’m in the minority in that I think the Nationals’ are fantastic. ---

I like the city connect Colorado uniforms so much I’m starting to think they should just be their uniforms. That’s certainly not true of all of them. The flourescent Boston yellows are ghastly, the Washington ones are dumb, and the Padres uniforms looks like they really should be Miami, but those Colorado unis are dope as hell. Arizona’s city connect uniforms are also better than their regular togs, but that’s mostly because their regular uniforms are horrifying. ---

One cure for Met ills is playing the Marlins. They’re now 5-1 facing Miami in 2023. Over the past five seasons, the Mets have gone 47-26 against Miami. ---

I guess I just now realized they’re using the same city uniforms as last year. I’d love to see something like this become a more permanent alternate jersey. I guess they’re taking a page from soccer kits? ---

The Dodgers City Connect uniforms are basically their alternate uniform with the name in Spanish instead of English. Accurate, but _boring_. ---
