mmm mmm good

Minestrone soup for me. Occasionally I will use minestrone soup as a pasta sauce…mmmm…making myself hungry.

I am also a fan of tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich.

Thin and brothy: French Onion (progresso)
Thick and creamy: Potato, Leek, and Garlic (my own)
Ridiculously rich: Beer and Lobster bisque (my own)
Stewy: Beef Stew (my own)
Spicy: Jambalaya (with some help from “Bayou magic”)

A homemade cream of mushroom (with a little walnut pureéd in to the base) is one of my favorites. I like a well-made French Onion (with a hint of sherry) as a late night snack–which is a French tradition.

There was a sandwich shop near where I used to work that made the best Tomato Bisque I’ve ever had.

Homemade gazpacho. Use extra tobasco and garlic. I eat it all summer when it is too damned hot to think of heating the stove.

Enchilada soup is my favorite during the winter.

My personal faves:

Cream of Chicken
Cream of Broccoli
Cream of Mushroom
Chicken Noodle
Chicken Vegetable
Tomato
Boston Clam Chowder (does anyone actually like Manhattan Clam Chowder? Not that I’ve ever had any…it just doesn’t look apetizing.)

Cream of potato soup with bacon
mmmm

Is chili soup? Love chili!

Also, Manhattan style clam chowder.

Hot and Sour (at my favorite Chinese restaurant).
Wonton (same place).
My homemade vegetable beef.
My homemade chicken and dumplings.
Chicken Italiano (at a Souper Salad restaurant).
Chili is good too!
Do pinto beans count with lots of juice?

I’ve got 3:

Wonton(sp?) Soup: love this soup, have it every time I get Chinese food.
Baked Onion Soup: Also a great soup, though it’s not as consistent (ie. some places make really good Baked Onion Soup, and others make really crappy B.O. Soup)
New England Clam Cowder: I think that’s what it’s generally called. The white clam chowder, also a great soup. I have it at home and at restaurants. Though, it also is better at some places.

My personal favorites are:

My Grandma’s Potato soup
My Sister’s Wisconsin Cheese soup
Most French Onion soups

New England Clam Chowder

Depending on how it’s made, potato and mushroom soups make the list too. There’s one place I’ve been to where the Wild Mushroom soup is to die for.

Dumpling soup or Matzo Ball soup.

That sounds great.

I like Clam Chowder, pasta soup, split pea and Golden Mushroom.

French Onion Soup (CanadianSue taught me how to make it)
Clam Chowder (really good stuff not canned)
Potato Soup
Home-made veggie beef soup

Clam Chowder in a bread bowl…yeah baby!
