I did read the dance notes, but considering that my knowledge of dance begins and ends with the hokey-pokey I was a bit more than lost. I did pique up when you mentioned a folklore class though, that is one of the subject I really wish I could have fit into my class schedule at some point. ---

**lili** , I love reading about your dancing. I’ve never been that coordinated, but I love watching belly dancers. I had labs today. Wee. The [del]phlebotomist[/del] blood-drawing lady was obviously new - ouch! She drew 4 FULL tubes of blood, including the tiger tubes. That’s a lot of blood! Then I hadda go pee in a cup. So I start singing in the bathroom “Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit” and then I remember that I \*\*don’t \*\* want to kill the rabbit, 'cause if I did, somebody’d have some ‘splainin’ to do. Why do they automatically assume “Pregnant” when I’m nauseous and light-headed? I’m a lesbian, I’m not pregnant! Oh, yeah, lots of lesbians are sleeping with men these days. I thought that was the point of being a lesbian, the not sleeping with men thing? I guess I missed the memo. There’s nothing wrong with men, I just don’t wanna sleep with 'em. Which brings up a mini-rant: Hello, lesbian erotica editors! Women fucking men and vice versa is not transgressive. I believe that’s been going on for oh, I don’t know, quite a while now. In fact, there is an entire industry devoted to the subject. So stop it. Or just call it smutty sex, but quit putting the label “lesbian” on it. Am I done? No, wait, there’s more. What’s up with all the stupid names in lesbian smut? Kyle, Dane, Carter, Pierce, Reese, etc, stop it! Just stop it! What’s wrong with Kate, Melanie, Tracy, Asha, Wei, or Nilda? All respectable names where I don’t have to wonder who the hell I’m reading about. And I could really do without women being described as getting hard. Just **stop**. Knock. It. Off. Whew! Get stuck at home for 5 days with nothing to read but lesbian romances and build up some major resentments! ---

I used to occasionally do English folk dancing at the SCA lo these many eons ago, **Alistair** , but what I do at my dance school under the heading ‘folklore’ is a variety of Middle Eastern dances that aren’t classical Egyptian bellydance. Right now we’re doing kaleegy, which **Dotty** can tell you lots about- it’s Saudi dancing, done wearing a big long elaborate dress. I’ve recently done Mohammed Ali Street Style (dance like a slut, more lor less. Very trampy), shamadan (dance with a candelabra on your head), and Greek. Other types include assaya (cane dancing), Zaar (middle eastern headbanging), that Lebanese line dancing stuff, and a whole lot I don’t know or can’t remember. Anyway, it’s nice to know that it’s interesting to some of you. I’ll keep doing it. ---

Drive-by Post: I have class tonight. I had a big cup of coffee so’s I can stay awake till 10:00 and look like I’m paying attention. I need to suck down some dinner and change clothes. Lots of people in my class smoke on breaks and although I haven’t smoked in over 15 years, I’m very stressed lately and would dearly love a cigarette. I know I shouldn’t, but the smell drives me crazy. Today was my first ‘offical’ day back to work, meaning this was the first day the kids were there. They all seem really sweet and none of them cried. Yay! One little girl brought me a potted mum, which I need to plant. ---

Another drive-by. I discovered that this stupid transcript was going to be like 35 pages longer than even I had estimated, so after lunch I said the hell with it and took a break and watched my show. Just so’s you know, \*\*LiLi \*\* isn’t the only bread maker in the MMP. I’ve got a loaf baking as I type this. Of course, it’s in a machine, and baking consists of dumping all the ingredaments into the machine and pushing the “On” button, but still, it’s bread and it’s being made in my kitchen because of me. So there! 😃 I’ve also got a humongo pot of veggie beef soup/stew simmering away for dinner. Since it’s cool and supposed to get rainy, I thought soup and crusty bread would be good. Then I got to thinkin’ how I haven’t used my bread machine in ages, so I stopped by the store and got the special flour and the special yeast and the powdered milk. So in about an hour, we’ll be having soup and warm bread. Yummmmm! Did I mention my sweetie is going to Phoenix this weekend? He’s got to escort a satellite that’s being delivered to a contractor out there. He and one other guy are going to be following the truck in a pimped-up bus - the kind that rock bands and such use on tour. Rough life, huh? Then when they get out there, they’ll supervise the unloading of the satellite, then catch a plane back here on Weds. So I’ll be home without adult supervision! PARTY TIME!!! 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 Or I’ll just play with clay - one or the other. MMMMMM - the house is smelling souperrific! Can’t wait till dinner time. Did I mention I got ice cream for dessert?? Don’t you wish you were having dinner with me?? ---

Really, I’m getting to work in just a moment… I Googled \*newsletter templates \*and got several items that weren’t very helpful, but this site, which is geared to [small businesses](http://www.homebiztools.com/enews.htm) actually looks like it has some good tips on newsletters. If you register your e-mail address, they’ll give you access to free newsletter templates. (I have a junk e-mail address that I use for sites like these.) I got free stuff! Woo hoo! The Reno Peppermill rep stopped by and left a bag full of goodies. 2 handheld battery operated fans, a leather notepad, a little clock that sticks on anything and rotates (it’s cute!) and a wooden box with a corkscrew and 2 wine bottle stoppers with golf balls on top. Very nice. The chances that I will need to use the Peppermill: slim to none. But I do like to look at hotels and get swag. I love any swag that doesn’t have the firm’s name on it. Except when it’s the name of firms that got eaten, those are kind of fun to have around. ---

For the record, my soup/stew was good, but the bread was even better. I think we snarfed down half a loaf or more. MMMMMMMM - warm, homemade bread and butter… _\_ I’ll be putting 2 or 3 meals’ worth of stew into the freezer, and I’ll still have leftovers for the rest of the week. Yum. ---
