I remember doing pottery in art class back in… high school? Maybe late jr. high? Something like that. I recall really enjoying it, but like with most artforms I get enjoyment out of them at the expense of those that have to witness my efforts.
The weekend was incredibly uneventful here, especially considering that my sister once again failed at her task of bringing her cute, single, roommate over to watch MST3K episodes. She claims that CSR had to go home to visit with her grandparents before they head to Florida for the winter, I’m starting to wonder if CSR is just a myth or a figment of my sisters imagination brought on by a combination of stressful bio classes and fumes from chem lab.

Welcome, **mosy**! See, I like that nickname better than **mnem**. (Not better than M&Ms, though. 😃 )
Is it really Monday already? What happened to the weekend? Oh, I know, I was busy working. Except for visiting and admiring FCM’s Originals™, of course. Just to [prove](http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m5/MamaTiger4747/PotteryGoddess.jpg)[I was](http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m5/MamaTiger4747/Allherwares.jpg)[there](http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m5/MamaTiger4747/Hardatwork.jpg). And yes, the sun was hot. **FCM** , you really need to post a picture of that fish; it’s a great fish! I’m just sorry I didn’t take a photo of him. He was a really cool freaky-looking fish. I just realized what he reminded me of – the fish costumes a friend and I wore to a costume party many years ago. Same shape exactly!
The nice man who did beautiful wood stuff, hangings and stuff carved and pieced out of different colored woods (I loved a giraffe plaque he did, but it cost $240! :eek: ), insisted on giving us ice for the puppies, who were very pleased. And we’d put Isaac back on his [Gentle Leader](http://www.sitstay.com/store/equip/collars2.shtml) head collar because he’s forgotten he’s not supposed to pull on the leash, so we had a nice conversation with a couple ladies about its efficacy, too. (And it really works – Isaac lets the leash hang completely slack as soon as we put it on him now.) But I agree about all the crafty stuff. One booth was selling little Christmas trees made out of different sized _fleurchons_, which, as anyone who watches Project Runway will understand, caused me to immediately cracked up. Another lady was selling scarves, made with gigandamudo crochet and about $2 of fuzzy yarn, for $15; I guess I’m just not a crafter at heart, I can’t see asking that much for something that took 20 minutes and $2 to make.
But mostly I was a Very Good Girl all weekend, as I need to go back to being now, and worked hard since **whiterabbit** arrives on Thursday and I’d like to not have to work at all while she’s here. We have too much goofing off scheduled to let a boring little thing like work interfere with having fun!

\*\*FCM \*\* - sounds like the show was great! Looks like you sold quite a few pieces. Next time, you’ll have to wear more clay so you don’t burn at all. (And thanks, **Sean** , for assuring me that I’m not the only one who thought of Arnold at that point.)
\*\*Rebo \*\* - I made that etouffe for dinner Friday night. (I only used shrimp, though.) It was _great_! My husband was making those yummy noises while he ate, and made sure I remembered what I put in it. (I experiment a lot, and can’t seem to make the same thing twice.)
The Faire this weekend was a lot of fun. I brought 3 teenaged girls with me, and they were quite taken with [**Mika** , **Drae** , and **Drae’s Roomie**.](http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/lnplong/Ren%20Faire/?action=view¤t=Hello.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch2) (The non-Doper is in the middle.) In fact, my daughter wants to know when the three of you are coming over to our house for dinner. So please consider that an open invitation whenever you’re in the neighborhood (or even just passing through on your way to somewhere more interesting!).
For all of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting them in person: [Mika](http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/lnplong/Ren%20Faire/?action=view¤t=Mika.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1) is just as sweet live as she is here, and Drae’s head looks nothing like a bowling ball (she’s nice, too!). This picture doesn’t do her justice, but it’s really of her [tattoo](http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/lnplong/Ren%20Faire/?action=view¤t=Drae.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1), anyway. The hairbraiding **Drae** mentioned came out great – check it out [here](http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/lnplong/Ren%20Faire/?action=view¤t=Braidsfromtheback.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch6). Again, the non-doper is in the middle - I wonder why that is?
So, picture this. There are seven of us (Drae, Roomie, Mika, Twinkie, and the teenagers Twinkie carries around) sitting in a loose circle on a hill, just chatting. We notice a tiny little red-headed girl dressed up like Cinderella watching us. This little girl comes and plops herself down right in the middle of our group, smiling like she’s known us her whole life (all of about 3 years, I’d guess). She must have felt some kinship, since Drae, Roomie, and One Teenager are all redheads. Little Girl decides she’s going to roll down the hill. As any veteran hill-roller knows, to accomplish this, you lie _across_ the hill, roll once, and gravity takes over. This girl lies with her feet pointing downhill, and starts rocking back and forth, and goes nowhere. Her dad is at the bottom of the hill, trying to coach her. Finally, he picks her up by her arm and her ankles, turns her sideways, and down she goes. She comes right back up to us, of course. Finally, she figures out the lying sideways part, but everytime she does it, she lies down _behind_ Drae. So, of course, she’s not rolling. The best part, though, was when she got tired of the rolling, and just sat and stared at us. She didn’t have much to say, but didn’t want to leave. Finally, she asked Drae, “Can I have your purse?” Drae started laughing, and said, “Umm…no.” The girl wanted to know why, so Drae told her that she needed the purse, because her wallet and her phone were in there. The little girl said, “Oh. But you can get a new one.” Drae said no again (very nicely), and the girl started poking Drae and swatting (not quite hitting) her arm. Drae very calmly looks at us and says something like, “I’m being mugged.” OK – guess you had to be there. But it was funny.
The only other picture I took was of [this guy](http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h308/lnplong/Ren%20Faire/?action=view¤t=RenegadeRooster.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch7), who was walking around the new pub. I think Mika took a bunch of pictures, probably much better and a lot less blurry than mine.

I need to take a wheel-throwing class. When I tried back in college, I never could get the damn clay centered, but one of the teachers here is supposed to be good at teaching that.

Aww, thanks. 🙂 Everyone was nice, and the teens were sweet. Been a long time since I hung out with any teens! And yes, the little girl was adorable. Almost makes me want one.

My Darling Marcie’s birthday is looming, as is our tenth anniversary. So, we went shopping a few days early and Marcie bought me a Seiko wristwatch I’ve been coveting for my anniversary present. I asked her if I could combine her birthday and anniversary presents; she said that would be okay and I bought her a new engagement ring and wedding ring she admired. I think that I truly surprised her and that she was well pleased, which always pleases me.

**Telperien** mentioned pumpkin cheesecake in the last MMP. My sister makes pumpkin cheesecake and it’s just incredible.
As she (she, right?) said, it’s like cheesecake and pumpkin pie got together and had a love child. My sister can make this really cool swirly design on top, too, so it looks pretty.
Now I’m hungry.

Seriously, cutest small child _ever_. She had a little princess outfit and a crown, and her dad was laughing so hard at her antics he could barely work his camera. I managed to get out with my purse intact, but I think she could have taken me, if she really meant it. 🙂

I’ve see ummm… some adult art films involving firemen where that happened. I guess art really does imitate art. 😃
I meant to say how jake the glass is **picunurse**. You make purty glass as well as paint purty pictures.

Because Geek Boys at Ren Faires think the Leia Look is _hot_. 😃 And she had less hair then the rest of us.
