I figured out long ago that Og made me gay cause I’d be hopeless as a parent. I mean, every pet I have had has been spoiled beyond help within ten minutes of me acquiring it. Could you imagine what I’d do to a child! :eek: Anyways, I have my place as the good uncle (now great uncle) with the great presents and I like that a lot. I did get stuff done at work. YAY! Sometimes lecturing myself works. I have my company smashed taters ( **N.O.T.** ) ready to go in the oven when it’s time and friends will be over in about an hour for drinks, horseovaries and general merry makin’ for the birthday boys. We’ll prolly grill steaks around sixish. It’s a beautiful, mild day here. Temp right now is 70F. I love these mild south Jawja winters. ---

I should be out cleaning up my garden because it’s something like 60 degrees out there. Instead, I went and bought Valentine-card-making supplies and some groceries at Whole Foods. They have the yummiest yogurt ever there (Liberte - a Canadian brand, made with Vermont milk), and **it was on sale!!!** Yay!!! I’m quite a bit older than you, **Lissla** ; old enough to be your mother, I think. Now I’m off to the Hispanic grocery store because I need real corn tortillas. I’m going to the one that’s farther away because they have the brand that I like and are pretty large, so I can browse appropriately. Also, the 24-hour post office is on the way there so I can get the stamps I need for the Valentines. I’ve met kids like the one you’re talking about, **Taters**. Makes you want to send the parents to remedial parenting lessons. Shouldn’t there be a licensing requirement? Off to shop some more… GT ---

Well, no de-fencing, but we took down a pine tree that was dangerously close to falling across the driveway. We had been walking around the yard looking at the dead trees (mostly pines) and discussing what needs to be done. As we checked out one dead pine, **FCD** discovered that it was split, probably due to lots of flexing in our big wind storm last week. He started hacking at it with his pocket knife, and next thing we knew, he had the chain saw. We dropped the tree into the forsythia (broke a few big branches) and proceeded to hack it up. I brought the trailer around, and he added to the debris by hacking up one of the overgrown cedars at the end of the driveway. In fact, the cedar needs to be gone before we can remove the entire fence. So we loaded most of the pine tree and a bunch of cedar on the trailer and made a dump run. Our dump grinds yard waste into free mulch. We’ll go back and get a load of mulch next time. I scratched my right arm up pretty good - my work gloves were all bloodied. But the dead tree is gone, so the driveway is safe. And the cedar will eventually be gone - it’s a big 'un. And once it’s gone, then we can get the fence out of there. But we’re done for the day. I had a hankerin’ for shrimp, but all I have is a 5-lb block of frozen shrimp that I don’t feel like dividing at the moment. So we’ll have something else. **FCD** wants Mexican food. I do not like Mexican food. I suppose we could try to find a place that has Mexican and something I can tolerate. Or we could eat cereal… Or order pizza. ---

Kids. Man are they exhausting! **Taters** you just keep on correcting the girl. She needs to learn that the rules change depending on where she is. That interrupting thing was one of my own personal hells. Those blasted kids just could not control themselves. Everything was sooooooooo interesting and exciting that they just had to share it right now! We kept at them though, and they got better. Although they stood there wiggling until it was their turn to talk. Oh, the memories. ---

**Lissla,** I might have to move to Toronto. I can’t do grocery walks around here–I have to drive. It’s not nearly as much fun that way. Although it’s still fun to buy things in mysterious packages. Sometimes they taste good, sometimes not, but it’s more entertaining than buying things you can read! I haven’t had any Pocky sticks for a while–maybe it’s time to go to the Asian Supermarket. I have a pint of cream in my fridge that’s expiring next week. What should I make with it? I have lots of chocolate, so I’m thinking maybe truffles. I have some crystallized ginger, too. Maybe ginger truffles. I wonder if they’d taste good with some chopped pistachios. **Taters,** good for you! It’s not good for kids to never be told “No.” Sometimes I’m just stunned at the stuff some parents let their kids get away with. Most of the children I know are lovely, but there’s one family that’s totally undisciplined. They also have a German Shepherd that’s pretty much the same. Poor dog. Sweet dog, but she’s going to be a terror when she’s full-grown. I’m glad they’re not my neighbors. And then there was the time I was paying for my stuff at Target, and a kid with the family behind me in line took the little divider thingy. Did his mom say anything? Noooo, of course not. I had to tell this strange kid to not take the divider thingy out, so the cashier could tell which stuff was mine. Because I’m not paying for your junk food, you brat. I’m watching Jaws 2. Someone save me. I laughed at the first Jaws when the really fake-looking shark was munching on the little boat. This shark isn’t any better. ---

Just got a call from my youngest sister. Her best friend (a boy who lived 2 doors from us when we were growing up - I used to babysit him) has a catering business. He got the job of catering a VIP thang in Baltimore, on Wednesday, for the Rolling Stones. No, that’s not all. He needs a bartender. My sister is a bartender. Guess who’s going to tend bar for the Stones on Wednesday?? I know I haven’t mentioned this here, but my sister has the Stones’ lips-and-tongue thing tattooed on her butt. She intends to show it to them. That’s my brush with greatness. Bask in my glow! _\_ ---

It was kind of chilly in here. Now for some reason it’s kind of warm. There seems to be something glowing nearby. 😃 **Spats** , I think **FCM** has MMP-starting duty this week. She was going to start it this last Monday, but **swampy** stole her turn. 😃😃 Just finished watching _Must Love Dogs_ and am now watching _Notting Hill_. I’m just making my first Valentine card. I got all sorts of stickery things and crafty paper stuff and glitter pens. We’ll see how they turn out. I keep thinking I should make more cards because it’s fun and also I get ticked about the price of ready-made cards. GT ---

Good evening. I’m hungry, and work was boring. I think I should be paid to stroll around and shop in interesting stores. Pocky is good, the filled marshmallow things are weird, and the condensed milk candies are yummy. I personally hate wasabi peas but Mr. Lissar adores them. I have decided that I should buy Honey Citron Tea when next the opportunity arises. Everyone should move to Toronto and shop with me. It is decided. Well, at least the ones who like fun food shopping. ---
