Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of _only_ 93 and possible scattered tstorms. Acutally possible scattered tstorms is the norm. One never knows. Yestiddy we had rain for almost four hours in the afternoon. Maybe it’ll hold off today so we can have pool time. So, today friends are comin’ over to hang at the pool and eat bbq. I requested bbq and hot wings bein’ as this is allegedly my bday soiree. Plus cheesecake! YAY!!! I got sorta kinda fussed at for insistin’ on usin’ an already smoked \ boston butt \ I had in da freezer to make the bbq. However, I saw no need to crank up the smoker to smoke the very thing that was already here and ready to use. That makes no sense to me. In a while I shall head over to the church house to get ice to ice down beerverages, water and soft drinks. The ice maker in the church kitchen makes more ice than would ever be used so folks are kinda encouraged to come get ice. **kanga**! Good to see ya! Glad the cool new job is goin’ well. Like **gigity** said, sometimes it’s best to let old friends go. Those two sound like a couple worth lettin’ go. **gigity** glad the vacation is goin’ good. Sounds like you’ll need to go back to irk to rest. 😃 Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Happy Sattidy Y’all! ETA: First on Five! ---

Got distracted by my fish tale and forgot to add - YAY, **Kanga** , on job and future new place!! Bummer about your “friends” but that’s the way it goes sometimes, I guess. I had an old friend who I thought was more or less normal, then the ultra-right-wing-whacko emerged and wouldn’t go away. I try to avoid political discussions, but this guy wouldn’t let it go. Thus endeth several decades of friendship. His loss… Glad you’re having a good vacation, **tugig**! Sorry we couldn’t do lunch… ☹ ---

I woke up this morning to a picture of a full-term baby photoshopped into the palm of a hand and the statement that this is what a 12-week fetus looks like. WTF? I respect the position of those who are anti-choice. I don’t agree, of course, but I understand. If you are so confident of your position, why use lies? ---

So I was reading farcebook this morning and it would appear that I am the only person on there who didn’t bother watching the opening ceremony. “Machine Gun Preacher” and margaritas was much more entertaining. ---

All I saw of the opening ceremonies were bits and pieces of the parade of nations as my spousal unit switched back and forth from whatever it was we were watching. Plus it was a delayed broadcast, so all the participants were sound asleep by the time we saw any of it. Honestly, I don’t much care. I find watching sports on TV mostly boring. Off to get some breakfast before a fun day of chores… ---

I didn’t watch the Olympics either. Saw a small snatch of it when I was flipping channels and that was it. I probably won’t watch any of it. I don’t have any real plans for today; probably some chores and maybe a dash to the grocery store for just a couple items. It is cloudy and kind of cool outside. The sun is supposed to break out some time today, but we shall see. It never did make an appearance here yesterday. ---

Grass has been mowed and evil paulownias growing from the depths of hell have been sprayed with poison. Damned sprouts… I’ve got the sprinkler going out front - my hydrangeas look so sad. I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer and I just finished emptying the dishwasher. For the moment, I’m taking a break with a cold drink because I’m sweating like crazy. Stoopit summer. The bully tangs seem to be leaving the other one alone. With luck, he’ll (she’ll?) heal and life will return to normal in the tank. Oh yeah - while I was mowing out front, I saw a half-eaten 'mater that had been stolen from one of my plants. Now the squirrels are doing takeout!!! ---
