Thanks for sharing what you wrote about your love, \*\*Sticky. \*\* I am so sorry. The new division chief came in today. Hmmmm…:dubious: I am reserving my opinion for the time being. He’s smart, and knows his stuff; but my hackles were raised when he insisted on seeing my office space. I don’t know if you remember, but awhile ago, the deputy was talking about kicking me out of my office and sticking me in an open area, with three other people. We all have three computers. The area she wants to stick us in is really designed for two people. All because SHE wants an office with a window. She was right at his elbow. It irritates me that he is taking everything she is saying at face value; she wasn’t even here for most of the last year because she was on a Baylor internship. She has no idea how things work and what the dynamics are. Bah…this kind of puts me in a bad mood. The logistics of that would be stupendous. It takes our IM office three to four months to even act on a move and network cabling request. We would each require three drops. It’s just stupid. Anyway, I’m not real confident that I’ll continue to have my space. I pointed out to him that much of what I work on is complicated and requires concentration, so I often shut my door due to the noise outside my office. Additionally, I pointed out I often have customers and I need space for them to sit as well. Finally, there’s all my file storage place to consider. ---

Last week I got one of those periodic calls to take a job with The Client From Hell, the one whose name still triggers the flee reflex. I said “hell, no, sorry, I don’t work for them”. In these few days I’ve had a couple of contacts from people telling me/bragging they were being considered for a job with TCFH; I’ve done my best to steer them away: if they want to take it of course they can, but let nobody be able to say I knew what a hellhole the place is and did not give fair warning. Same agent called me again today, begging me to reconsider. There must be a part of “oh bloody hell NO” which is hard to comprehend… ---

I said “no, I am still not going to work for Them, and anyway I’ve got a project already.” Which was already showing in his screen, actually, since his agency are the ones who couldn’t move Project#2 fast enough… I think “I’m in a project” counts as a Professional Version of neener[sup]3[/sup]. Although I do refrain from saying it in a singsong :halo:. ---

My sleep clock is all wonky - I was up till midnight, which is just not me, but I woke at 6 - blech. Luckily, I was able to mostly sleep till 8, and I woke up a minute or two before the phone rang. I’ve got a dentist appt tomorrow, and yesterday I called the office after hours to confirm, but I confirmed for today. Anyway, it’s all good. And I’m up. And caffeinating. It’s all good… I was up late mostly because I was making more SofTrivets. I’m thinking about trying the Marketplace forum. If I sell some, great, if not, they’ll go to the store as supplies run low, or they’ll be Christmas presents. I’ve found that I can’t just sit and watch TV any more - I have to do be doing something. I guess it’s conditioning from all the things I’ve donated to the AARP -I made all of them while watching TV or driving down the road. We’re having a humidity-free morning, so I’ve got some windows open, at least for a little while. Plans for the morning involve some tidying before \*\*FCD \*\*gets home, and maybe a little more time in my studio. I don’t know - I’m still waking up. 😃 Happy Wednesday, all! 😃 ---

I have a novel that’s consuming me. I need to empty my car from RenFaire, but I just want to write all the time. I’ve got about 50 pages written already (I think - I have a big chunk at the beginning that’s not typed up yet). It’s funny how it’s hitting all of my favorite tropes - guys in suits, characters who won’t speak (at first), blank masks / faces, mental institution settings (I really need to find someone who will beta read and give me ideas), super powers, villain as protagonist (almost), asexuality… ---

The Caterpillar Suicide March of 2012 continues. In California, someone would have alerted the government by now and the sidewalks would be closed and a shade structure erected to allow the caterpillars safe passage without being stepped on or baked on the concrete, but here, it’s a bad day to be a bug. ---

Things with the bet friend went well. We hashed things out she said there was no way in hell she was throwing me away over this spat so I suggested a reboot. We both agreed to stop being mad about this current issue. We both also agreed to try to avoid doing the things that caused this current issue. Apparently we both had something that’s been pissing us off for a couple years now and we both blew up at the same time. But now it’s out in the open and we can move on. ---

It’s a trap, **Flytrap**! She has no booze ☹ Sleeping weirdly this week seems to be a not-uncommon thing. What can we blame, hrm…the moon? \ Well, that’s always there, so…probably not. Although I haven’t seen it lately… :eek::eek: Fridge is in the new house, and I was awake for their call even though I didn’t sleep for much last night either. Kitties are starting to get grumpy that every day some of their sleeping spots/hiding spots/loafing spots/look-out-the-window spots are disappearing. Hopefully, Friday, when they’re locked in a bedroom at the new house with all their ‘disappeared’ stuff while movers run through, they will forgive me. Eventually. Until the dog moves in, anyway… :smack: ---

There’s something not quite right about buying a friend a little gift that costs about $4 and having it cost $8 in postage to mail it. :eek: I only did it because she’s a good friend. And while at the post office, which is conveniently located less than half a mile from my house, I learned that it will go away as of Aug 17. I knew it was slated to be shut down, but I thought it was in 2013. Oh well. Now I’ll have to drive all the way to Loveville - 3 anna half miles away! Life is so unfair!!! I have to say, tho, I’m not surprised the Helen post office is being closed. The building should have been condemned decades ago and the parking lot is pretty much a convention of potholes. On the other hand, the Loveville post office is in a trailer on the driveway leading to the Amish farm and engine repair shop, so it’s got a gravel parking lot too. \*\*FCD \*\*is home and napping, poor baby. I’m going back to my crocheting. ---
