**Spats** and **taxi** , isn’t there a college up there in Troy that has a lot of wimmen in it? I seem to remember that friend of mine saying something about a school up there offering an MRS degree to their female students (and I’m not thinking of Skidmore up in Saratoga). ---

I like LN…but it’s not my name. I don’t mean to be hard on **rifty** --I was just funnin’. I would place my money on the gym at 0700, though. And don’t look like you’re there to scope girls! You have a wonky knee (here is the chance to look mysterious and deep) and you’re there to strengthen it. And for Og’s sake, don’t go on and on about the phyics of the Nautilus equipment! A smile, some idle chit chat and history could be made. (set your alarm clock). I think I’ll waste time today. I’m good at that. Work this weekend–acuity is high and staffing is not. Ugh. ---

Heya **Rue**! How’s the disgusting world of vet assistin’ going these days? I’m having horrible flood flashbacks today. See, waaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1994, we had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig flood here. It flooded our buildings. I spent six weekends, starting on Friday afternoons and going until late Sunday nights helping to clean out this place. I may wake up screaming tonight. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH what an awful time that was! It’s actually how I spent my fortieth birthday. Some of the pictures reminded me how we survived it all. Beer. Lots of beer. We also set up a grill on the lawn out in front and grilled stuff to eat. Ok, maybe there were some fun times, like my 40th bday party/cleanup day but still… I don’t ever wanna go through something like that again! :eek: Oh, and I have become absolutely useless this afternoon. Ima play around til time to go home. ---

Lunch made me sleepy. I would really like a nap. **swampy** , can I come to your house for dinner tonight? I don’t even want any steak just some garlic smashed taters (N.O.T.). What I’m getting is Subway. Either a ham or roast beef sub with just veggies on it. I have low-fat mayo at home that I’ll add on. I think we lost him back on page 6. I’m with you **Swampy**. The cat’s away and I want to play. I’d rather be at home doing it, though. \ I went to the mall at lunch, looking for gifts. Two year anniversary is cotton (traditional) or china (contemporary.) I saw a cotton shirt, but it was nothing special. I was looking for a coffee mug that I could fill with Hershey’s kisses, but they were all too cutesie. It has to be manly, dammit! We are going to dinner Sunday night. I told him his choice, 'cuz we always go where I want. I already got a card, and another for Valentine’s Day. ---

I have no idea what they call it now. I dont’ care. Point is this: I had a teacher of such horribly back suckiness–he made a black hole look like a suction cup. This was an awful teacher, a BAD teacher, a sclera- icteral, jaundiced, shaking teacher–who stank of Newports mixed with whiskey. Truly. Anyway, I think the alcohol had finally pickled his brain, because he never could call me El-ean-or. See how that just rolls off your tongue? A pretty, antiquated, but classic name. Nope. Best he could manage was:\*\* L-ner\*\*. So, please don’t call me **LNR** --I can’t handle the PTSD. I’m already sucking my thumb. ---

I want to go on record as saying :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: A nor’easter is heading our way with blizzard conditions and up to 2 feet of snow _::waaaaaahhhhhhh::_ And it will likely for the cancellation of our Chinese New Year dinner (complete with Lion Dance) I can’t shovel the stuff (arthitis and ‘para-asthma’), I hate driving in it (I could go off on a pitting about SUV driver who think they don’t have to drive carefully simply because of \*what \* they are driving, but I won’t) Snow, snow, go away Don’t come back any day ::crawls off into a corner with comforter, hot chocolate, and cat to wait it all out:: ---

All MMPers, I hereby give you the afternoon off. I’m certainly not doing anything. (Except answering the ratzenfraztenfarkin’ phone, natch.) I’ve had three orders today, and one phone call on my “official” line from a lady who wasn’t even looking for me, really. This day was a total waste of makeup. (Although I did buy new eyeliner the other today, and today was the first day I tried it out.) I’m going to hit Target on the way home (hit … get it?) and pick up a new space heater (‘cause I went and kilt the one I got a couple weeks ago–damn cord frayed and snapped for no reason, but thank Og it frayed to the point of unusability, because I could have started a big ol’ fire from not noticin’), cat food, soup and snacks to weather the upcoming snowstorm, some plastic plates to use as paint palettes for the ongoing stenciling of the bedroom, and maybe a movie or two to watch while I paint. Envy me and my jet-set life. ---

Dang - someone listened to me?? :eek: **smitty** , welcome to the thread full of Cool Kids! Unfortunately, **Cartooniverse** did, in fact, visit me at home and cart off the Chandelier from Hell, so I can no longer offer that as an inducement, or threat, or whatever. And I’ve given away all my spare ceramics (class starts again Feb 25) so there are none of those to offer. I dunno about the lamp, either, but I’ve got a sack full of tea lights - you’re free to grab a handful of them. I don’t really have a nickname, except that **Rue** calls me **Snickers** - a little inside joke he and I share from, dang, years back!! But it’s probably confusing since there’s a Doper named **Snickers** , who isn’t me. I don’t have a sock - well, not on the boards. I have lots of socks at home. Mostly white pairs and black pairs, with a brown and a gray pair in there for good luck. Might have navy blue, too. Speaking of snow, we’re being threatened with up to 8" in this general area - or at least DC is. We’re south and east and closer to the Bay, so we may not get as much. But I’m ready - I just bought some milk, and we’ve got bread in the freezer, and plenty of toilet paper. That’s your standard snow storm supplies, right?? We don’t do Val’s Day here, and that suits me fine. Besides, **FCD** will be in the hospital on the 14th, drugged, so even if I took him flowers, he wouldn’t notice. And he knows better than to give me jewelry - I don’t wear the stuff. He has given me 2 watches in the past, both of which I wore till they died. He also got me an opal ring as an engagement ring, but I haven’t worn that in ages because it sits high on my hand and it snags on stuff. I’m just not a jewelry kinda person. And I think that’s all I’ve got for the moment. I need to gather all the household trash and recycling and take it to the convenience center. Then I need to run the vacuum - idiot Bernie doesn’t clean up the crumbs of her cookies. When we still had Pixel, she’d come behind Bernie and get every remnant. And the worthless cat will steal Bernie’s kibble, but she won’t eat cookie leavin’s. So I gotta vacuum. TGIF!! ---

I’m in the northeast US (specifically Long Island NY - more on that in a moment) hence the storm name “nor’easter” Our cable co produces a LI specific weather channel, since The Weather Channel can’t really focus on one region, and the NY broadcast stations think the tri-state area is made up of NYC, the northern burbs, southern CT and northern NJ only - they really tend to forget about LI when forcasting Anywho - “News-12 Weather” showed “winter storm watch” for the whole area - except LI - which had a BLIZZARD WARNING so, yeah, you’re safe ---

I’m hitting the Target (hee) this weekend, too. Need stuff like TP, pantyhose, tampons and such. And of course I’ll swing through the clothing section to make sure I’m not forgetting anything I critically NEED, you know. BSMF has a lot of stuff planned this weekend with his friends, which means I will have quite a bit of time to myself. I think this could be a good thing. ---

Keep your snow until Wednesday of next week–then I’m off till the next Tuesday… Luckily, with prevailing winds etc, we don’t get Nor-easters here–we get Canadian clippers, though. Ours has a nicer name, IMO. Either way, we look to the Northwest for blizzards, not the East. It’s kinda ironic that the Weather Channel ignores LI, no? huh. What should I make for dinner? I made pancakes and sausage last noc. I like breakfast food for dinner. Guess **Winny** lost interest, eh? Oh,well-he’s welcome any time. ---

Yeesh! No snow here, thank goodness. You know, I still have a gift card to use up for Sears. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll actually get to the mall to use it this weekend. I really do need some new boulder holders. Yeah, I’m such an exciting person; I’m using a gift card to buy underwear. :rolleyes: If I do hit the mall, I’m going to stay away from Tar-jay. It’s too easy to get sucked into the “stuff for the house” vortex, and then I’ve spent money I shouldn’t have spent. I’m still counting my pennies and ha’ pennies. I don’t think I have any real plans for the weekend. **Mr. Taters** just sent me an e-mail from home. He’s home early from work, AGAIN, and had to inform me that he’d just cracked open a Pacifico. I sent him back an e-mail telling him he sucked from rubbing his slackerness in my face. Yeah, I’m jealous; what of it? ---
