It’s Jan 2, 2006. That doesn’t give me a whole lot to review. I spent New Year’s Day doing laundry, playing solitaire on line, and pretty much just hanging out. That sums it up. But that’s too short for a MMP, so instead, I’m going to dust off my crystal ball\* and make some predictions for the MMP in 2006. **swampy** will share _way_ too much TMI – yeah, that was a tough prediction. **Rue** , **welby** , and **Exgineer** will make rare appearances and people will gush over them, which only encourages them to not show up regularly. There’s a lesson in there somewhere. **Bobbio** will continue to grow svelt and studly, and flirting will escalate. **Taters** will continue to not be mashed for dinner. At least 17 newbies will come in and ask “What does MMP mean?” and we’ll explain politely, because that’s the way we are. Then we’ll congratulate them for joining the Cool Kids. **Lissla** will accumulate at least 2 more husbands, and we’ll have to get a scorecard to keep track. \*\*Draelin \*\* will have many adventures in the bell tower, and they’ll inspire a major motion picture director. But he won’t be able to find quirky enough actors to play all of us, so the project will be shelved. **Tupug** will go off the deep end and have to change her name to\* **Tumanypug** \* when it comes out that she takes in 43 pugs. Film at 11. There will be _much_ discussion involving poke chops and cheesecake. Here the crystal gets a bit cloudy, but someone among the Cool Kids will either give birth to a child or get a splinter. Quite a few of the Cool Kids will be miffed at me because I didn’t say anything about them in this thread. But they’ll forgive me because I’m nice, dammit. **Bumba** will not have another heart attack. _That’s an order_! **Rue** will shock and awe us all when he starts an MMP again. Someday. Somehow. It will probably involve stuff gushing out of a dog. And that’s all I’m seeing just now. Anyone else have a prediction to share?? Happy New Year, MMPers!! \*No actual crystal ball was used in making this post. First off, I don’t believe in them. Secondly, I don’t have one. Thirdly, if you’re that much of a nitpicker, I don’t have time for you. 😛 ---

Great MMp, **FCM**! Thanks for getting the ball rolling for 2006. (sorry) I am not awake willingly this early in the morning. I was startled out of a very deep and comfortable sleep by an enormous crack of thunder that made me jump and sent squeaking kitties flying in all directions. They are not happy with me. I had cat problems in bed this morning also. One of then decided that it was okay to lay between my legs, preventing me from rolling over. For my year in review, yesterday I took down all the outside lights, helped the GF move all the inside decorations (plus the outdoor lights) into the attic, thought about cleaning the last of the neighbor’s oak tree leaves out of the gutters (full again), and instead mulched and collected all the leaves in the yard into one big compost pile for the spring’s flowerbeds. And watched about four hours of _Mythbusters_. Finally saw the toast episode. ---

Oh, my GOSH!!! My prediction is that Mr. Anachi will have another heart attack when I bring home 43 puggies! :eek: I predict **fcm** will find yet another [del]white elepha[/del], erm, antique in her basement to pass on to any new cool kids…cause she’s nice, dammit! 😉 **gardentraveler** will receive a _Nobel_ for growing a new form of garlic with all the taste but none of the bad breath of normal garlic. **shibb** will join **rue** and gang and make only rare appearances. **ems** will spend yet another year in Wyoming but this year she will be chased around by a _faaaabulously_ handsome cowboy who wants to take her away from it all. **riggs** , will pass her exam with flying colors and go on to head up the Library of Congress. (Okay, maybe not, but she WILL pass that ole exam.) **donkeybear** will continue to stalk **swampy**. Okay, somebody else take over. In other news, yesterday I took down alla the Xmas decorations and put em away for next year and then cooked a turkey breast for dinner in my new roasting pan. It came out yummylicious! (Yes, teh! It IS a word :rolleyes: ) Here’s sumpin really weird from the pet scene. I was reading and Mr. Anachi was watching football. Alla sudden he muted the living room TV and walked into The Princess’ room. She was out and her dog, Simba (the smart one), had walked into her room, jumped up on her bed turned on the remote and was watching a football game on her TV. I am NOT making this up. Hmmmm, maybe I am mentally closer to those 43 pugs than I thought. ☹ Later. Tupug ---

Thanks for the vote of confidence–I needed that. My predictions for 2006: I will spend a lot less time here, unless I tank the GRE, in which case, this place will become my life until I lose my job, get evicted and the kids get taken away from me and I go to live under the bridge near the interchange in an old refrigerator box…oh, sorry, I digressed. One of us will be revealed to be…Cecil himself. See, **FCM** may not have a crystal ball, but my daughter got a predictor for Christmas. It’s a small circular thing with stuff written on it (not at all like the althiometer of Lucy’s) and anyway, I saw it there. So of course, tis true! I will gain about twenty pounds just trying out these good recipes I find here–EVERY week! **Lissla** will shock everyone by swearing off husbands entirely and starting an all girl band. They will dress in wedding outfits (the nice white one is hers–the backup singers in bridesmaid attire) and make an MTV video! **Sean** will decry all math/physics interests and discover heretofore unknown talents as a writer. He will begin his Opus–a mystery with the SDMB as it’s main device… **Tupug** will awake one day and say, “Cats! I must have cats!” and a whole new life will begin in that household. Either that or they need to welcome their new pug overlords… :eek: **Ellen Cherry** will reveal her secret self–aka Cherry Ames. Yes, our own Cherry is really a nurse with all kinds of career ops! O Happy Day! She’ll take over my job when the fridge box beckons. **Swampy** will find his less than burly side–his life partner will turn out to be a lanky, clean-shaven, violin player who makes pastry and tap dances while he does it. Swampy will join in the tapping/pastry making and together they will get a cable show of their own! Swampy does indeed remember us lil folks when fame and stardom claim him. The Predictor is really hot to touch right now, perhaps more later. Oh-one last one. **Rue** , sadly, will be maimed by a pack of vicous chihuahuas. Physical therapy does wonders and soon he is back at the vets–this time wearing Doc Marten’s. 😃 ---

Yes. The Predictor has foretold it–there is no avoiding the prophecy. Pick up that guitar, girl and get to practicing! The Predictor has cooled off some, so here we go again… **Draelin** --beware! that bell tower is haunted. Watch for gypsy girls in the flames. (hey, I dunno what it means, I’m just the messenger!) **Taters** --ah. a happy and prosperous new year awaits. (is this thing broken?) 😃 **Scout** --no radar–infra-red cameras with heat seeking (finding?) equipment. You are front and center. Watch your step… **Anaamika** will go back to Colorado, suffer altitude sickness and fall in lust with her gorgeous male nurse. She will not succumb to temptation, though, but will treasure the memory every time she flys in a plane. **Rifty** --wait. The Predictor is shaking. I can’t seem to make out what it’s saying. Whatever it is, it may be big. **Bumba** will continue to progress in health and prosperity. He will achieve great wisdom and be known throughout the land as Dumble-abumba-dore. Start growing that beard! ---

I’m already a published author (if you count two years writing for a bi-weekly local entertainment mag (and I do) and I have a few things out there in Internet land) and quit writing because I couldn’t find an outlet that would publish me anymore. And I tried the novel route - I do much better with short stories and non-fiction. But I haven’t tried one with Opus in it. ---

Cool! I’m not going to get mashed AND I’ll be happy and prosperous! I can live with that! Thanks again for stepping up to the plate again and starting the MMP **FCM**. Ya done good! Year in review? Hmm, after returning home at 10:00 yesterday morning from the previous night’s activities, I: Sat on my ass and cruised the Dope and the net. Took a shower. Took a very long nap. Sat on my ass and cruised the dope and the internet. Made dinner. Watched TV Went to bed. Yeah, absolutely nothing got accomplished. Nothing. My Christmas tree is going to just turn into a poof of dust when I touch it. I really do need to get the Christmas stuff put away and get my house back to normal. If I don’t go anywhere today, that’s what I plan to do. ---

OOH! OOOH! Can I be a Cool Kid too? I even know what MMP means! I’ve been staying out of the MMP just cause I’m kinda shy, and thought it was a secret club like thing. But I read last week’s and found out you-uns are in here talking about FOOD! I like food! But not those poke chop thingies cause they are too dry. I don’t have any predictions, It’s all dreary here and I can’t be bothered. ---
