# Mod Wars?

Board users don’t pay Idle Thoughts, though. People do pay GRRM when they buy his books. That does sort of make him their bitch, in a way, a way that IT never could be.

They pay GRRM for books\* he’s already written\*. If they were funding his next novel through Kickstarter or were his Patreons or something, _then_ you could make that argument with some merit.

You take that back. This is America. Idle can be anything he wants to be if he dreams big enough.
