Just a mundane point for the day:
A quick search turns up 479 threads with “[moderator hat ON]” appearing someplace therein.
I wonder if those hats are, indeed, becoming more and more splendid with every removal. I haven’t seen anything to indicate that the hat is being actually placed upon the head. They may very well just be appearing there with the removal of the previous one, which brings me to the question of the day:
When the count reaches 500, do the hats finally stop coming off? Will the 500th thread to include this indicate that, as in _The 500 Hats of Bartholemew Cubbins_, the last one will be a beautiful hat, fitted with plumes and jewels? Will the king not chop off the mods’ heads when the breeze blows free through their locks?
Just wondering.

You know, we tried to get manhattan to put on his moderator hat during the last Dopefest in Manhattan and he downright refused.
Perhaps he was afraid he’d reach that 500 mark to early. No one wants to suffer from premature moderation.

At Springfield Meeting, also known as _Spiffle I_ (I have a sneaking suspicion _Spiffle II_ is coming soon), **Gaudere** wore her Moderator Hat. It was a brightly-colored, conical get-up that looked like it belonged on a court jester.
**David B** was also there, and IIRC his Moderator Hat looked like an ordinary baseball cap.

Yes, he did. But I’m a NYC Dopefest whore, and never pass one up if it’s in the City. I’m talking about the one with SwimmingRiddles. I think Manny was just trying to impress her. Or not be embarrassed in front of her (I believe the “hat” in question was actually a bent hanger).

As you can see from the picture, he doesn’t really have it _on_. It is being thrust apon his unwilling head by a drunken Latvian. And is the Uke next to him? See why I never want to take pictures? Uke looks kinda like mi abuelita in that picture.

Personally, if I were a mod I wouldn’t deal with a moderator hat. It would be either a moderator cape or a moderator bath robe.

**UncleBeer** ’s link does work. It’s on an AngelFire site. I don’t know why, but to view graphics on an AngelFire site, you have to hold the shift key and click Reload(Refresh).
