They’ll chase each other away from the feeders we have, when they’re plenty of sugar for everyone, just because they’re assholes. I’ve found two dead hummingbirds on our deck. One hummingbird had impaled the other on its beak. I don’t know if the killer died from the impact, or if it starved to death after being unable to extricate itself from its victim. ---

Since moderator’s posts are just like regular old posters except when they do disclaim their post with the: **[Moderator hat on]** tag or something similar, if they do moderate something without such a hat tag displayed, can they be warned for junior modding? ---

Hummingbirds are a good counter-example to Optimal Foraging theory. They’ll expend energy to chase other birds away from an effectively infinite food supply like a feeder. I’ve seen them chase hawks, macaws, and iguanas. ---

They don’t know the feeder is infinite, but they do the same thing with flowers: they will defend a whole bush, even if it has more flowers than they need at the moment, just to prevent someone else from getting a toehold. ---

My desktop, of course, is displaying the colors. So does Safari on the same phone. Moot to me though because I don’t see a need for special emphasis (or additional emphasis) for moderator actions, be it color, size, font or whatever. ---
