Quite so. Any power behavior you’d like to warn about specifically? (The only thing I’ve seen is a few locked threads where it said “I find this boring”, while obviously others were willing to keep the thread going. That’s not a major problem though, as threads do seem to get restarted.) ---

You have to get on the SDMB every night, or most every night, even when you just wish everyone would shut the hell up. You have to keep moving threads as people keep persistantly starting them in the wrong forum (for example, threads in GQ titled “My Butt Itches!” or “Has Anyone Else Been Gang-Sodomized by Demons?”) You have to keep deleteing threads as people keep submitting ones like “Make Money FAST”, “Hot Asian Girls in your Inbox!”, and so forth. You can’t get too involved in flame wars, since you represent the board (well, you are not supposed to anyways). You don’t have the right to be petty, bitter, or prejudicial, since your actions reflect on the board. You can’t start a Pit thread about another poster, for the reasons above. You get e-mails of the sort: - “Why is the board slow? Fix it now!!!” - “So-and-so was cussing in this thread!! Ban him/her please!” \*“I mis-spelled ‘felch’ in this post, can you please edit it for me?” - “UncleBeer, I’m watching you as I type this, and I’m naked” \*“iAm 337173, i WiLl BrInG tHiS bOaRd DOWN DUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZ! pS - sendz mE Warez oR n00d3 SheryL CroW jpgs!!!” But why would people put up with this? I suppose because they want to help out a cause, donate their time, expertise, and effort to it. They obviously must be a much higher order of person than most, I guess. ---
