Just asking–is it possible you’re mistaking a faked delay (for parody purposes) as though it were a real delay? TDS “via satellite” segments are filmed right there on the same stage at the same time, aren’t they? Or are there particular segments that have actually been via satellite?
I haven’t found this at all. Plugging the addresses into Google Maps produces the quickest route 99% of the time.
The only problem I ever had with car windows (in the OP sense*) was of the manual sort, electric has not failed me.
*I did have windows crack and break but that is unrelated as that was the windshild and rear glass, both fixed.
As such and similar, I find that things are getting better, actually much better.
while I agree the reliability of cars increased exponentially since the 70’s that’s because it was originally designed obsolescence. It was just the opposite for other products like refrigerators or furnaces. They were built like tanks in the 70’s.
But there is a trend in cars I really don’t like and that’s the computerization of everything. I have 2 cars of similar years from GM. One has 200,000 miles on it with only an intake gasket replacement. The other has less than 100,000 miles and it’s a fucking nightmare of unnecessary repairs. One has a hvac temp control switch operated by a cable and the other has one with a micro processor. I squirted a little oil on the one with a cable and I squirted $220 of money on the one with a micro-processor. One uses the old style turn signal relays and the other uses a microprocessor. One got 38 mpg WITHOUT the use of a mass air sensor and the other much less with a mass air sensor. Take a guess which one I’m happier with?
