Oh lord no - her voice over was all about how much she enjoyed raising Manny and she looked genuinely excited. I really dont see a mother just handing over her baby I people that he is in such close contact with saying “well this was not what i planned so you take it.” That’s coming out sounding really anti-adoption and I don’t mean ht at all, just that Gloria has no real obstacles to becoming a mother again. Jay is old but even if he were 80 she’s taken care of monetarily and with family around to help she won’t be put out. I do foresee the “unfairness of it all” conflict episode coming, but surely the solution won’t be a baby handover. ---

I’ve seen the future. Gloria, Claire, Cam & Mitch’s baby mama, maybe even Haley . . . all in labor at the same time. One of the men (hell, why not all of them?) appears to be having sympathy pains, but it turns out it’s kidney stones or appendicitis. Add a set of triplets and a baby mixup, and you’ve got yourself a must-see tribute to the glories of the American sitcom.:rolleyes: ---

Count me in as someone else who thinks Cam and Mitchell might end up adopting Jay and Gloria’s baby. ---

I, too, have totally ignored charcuterie on menus and had no idea what it was until this episode. “_That’s_ charcuterie? I’ve been avoiding that on menus for years. They’re **killing** themselves with that name!” ---

They must have gone through 9,000 auditions to get those three (Alex, Luke, and Manny). I’d mention Lily but, let’s face it, the kid’s a disaster… ---

I find it interesting that everyone says Jay is too old to be a father, when he’s exactly the same age my dad was when my sister was conceived (I’m older). And while my Mom is also South American, that’s where the comparisons with SV end. ---

There’s really no such thing as a man being too old to be a father. There are men who might be unfit ti be fathers, but that’s not an age thing. ---

There is no way this pregnancy will be false or end with anything but a baby. That is too sad for a Sitcom of this type to handle. Cam and Mitchell giving up their search is about as sad as a show like this will go. I also think it is unlikely Jay and Gloria would give their baby over to Cam and Mitchell to raise. Is there anyone in the world that would do that? That would be too weird. The show itself even touched on this in the episode when Claire offered to be a surrogate and then took it back. Note: I guess I feel I have to say I am not saying it is weird because they are two men. It is weird because they would be letting someone else raise their child. People they see nearly every day. ---

Plus, it the older the father the more likely he will experience major medical problems when the child is in its formative ears and the much higher likelihood he will not live to see the child grown. It’s true that a 19 year old father doesn’t have any guarantee of living to see the kid through high school, but the odds are definitely in his favor; Jay’s in his late 60s and if he does see the child to college he’ll be in his mid 80s. If Jay were 45 or even 55 it wouldn’t be as much of a problem, but he’s at least 65, probably closer to 70. I can rattle a list off the top of my head of easily a several famous men who fathered children at that age or older (Tony Randall, Jacques Cousteau, Charlie Chaplin, Anthony Quinn, Yves Montand, etc.) and none of them lived to see their youngest grown. (Strom Thurmond and Kevin McCarthy did, but, they’re the exception.) So, there are definitely age related factors that can interfere with the ability to be a good father, birth defects (which this child gets a double dose of since Gloria is over 35) and absentee father being two big ones.
