# Modern Family \[SPOILERS\]

Isn’t the mockumentary format really from Spinal Tap and those Christopher Guest movies? Not to discredit Gervais.

To proffer a different opinion, I love Phil Dunphy. I haven’t watched much of The Office (US) but Carrell is too much. I think Phil is believable for the most part, and as others have noted, they’ve reversed the roles with he and Claire a few times. Also, unlike Steve Carrell’s character, Phil is actually good at his job.

I love this show. Can’t think of the last time a network show captured my fancy, but I’m all over this one!

Yes, and I don’t think Rob Reiner’s This is Spinal Tap was the first movie mokcumentary, but I could be wrong, (Christopher Guest helped write that, and was in it).

I guess meant as far as TV is concerned.

I latched onto this show about three episodes in and loved it instantly.

Manny has become my favorite character.

Not sure which episode it was, but when he returned from a sleepover (“I was the first one asleep!”) sporting a Magic Marker goatee, I thought that was hilarious. Then, when they showed him checking himself out in the mirror and stroking his goatee, I lost it.

I don’t get the Phil-bashing; he’s one of the best characters on the show.
