Thanks, I appreciate your reply. Been a bit testy lately myself. 🙂 But I do hope that people understand that however, um, witchy, yeah, that’s the word, _witchy_ I may appear, I really do want the best for this place and everybody in it. I admit it does make me look a bit over the top sometimes, but as I have said before “vigilance in defense of your message board experience is no vice.” I take this part of the gig very seriously. I dunno, I sure trust the Mods/Admins to edit my posts as they see fit (except slythe… he’s mean to me :D). Think about it… they’d gain nothing from maliciously altering someone else’s post, and in fact they’d be shooting themselves in the foot by doing so. If Tubadiva, oh, ate too much chocolate and went insane and started completely rewriting posts left and right, you’d see a mass Exodus from the SDMB (and 3FMB would see their membership swell…). ---

Uh oh. I have a feeling this is headed somewhere bad fast. My original post dealt with mods changing their **own** posts, not those of others they have problems with. Close this bad boy down if you’d like, there are enough ‘pissed at mods’ posts floating around as it is. No need to ad this to the mix. ---

No harm in a mod just changing a sig file and blocking a poster. After all, what other legitimate options are there? Just actually using the term BANNED and/or editing in the normal way so people can tell it’s been done and by whom. Hmmm when I put it that way it does sound like they took the shabby route, doesn’t it? Oh, well. Just proves the OP is only the starting point of a thread, not its ruler. ---

There have been times in the past, the distant past, when I have observed TubaDiva and JillGat edit or delete their own posts for content. JillGat is no longer a moderator here, of course. The posts that I recall had to do with admittedly emotional areas. I think they primarily had to do with Melin, or with MajorMD, neither of whom post here anymore. At least, those were the only ones I was paying attention to, and cared enough about to remember. -Goldie Gentlemen DO prefer blondes – and for good reason! ---

OK so Cnote asked a question and got responses. Fine. No problem there. Then: boom. Who let the dogs with diarrhea out? **ddibb** come out swinging with a random (and kinda weak) flame and **24Karat** starts burping up bile about various posters and ancient history that sane people have had the perpsective to move past. Hey Alphagene, if the point of Fighting Ignorance includes allowing untruths, no problem. But on this thread all the mods and admins were patting themselves on the back crowing that they had never abused their editing powers. That’s not true. I notice that in her two posts above after my post TubaDiva never denied it, either. It is, of course, her word (or JillGat’s word) against mine, and you are free to believe or not believe me. But I know what I saw. Goldie ---

Suggestion- come up with _actual_ examples of moderators’ posts that were majorly self-edited or deleted, and maybe you’ll have a leg to stand on. As it is, you’re making a serious accusation with absolutely nothing to back it up. I expect that people will treat that with all of the seriousness that that deserves.
