I just want to thank the majority of posters here for framing their comments in active voice. Let’s all agree that passive voice assaults the English language and should be a bannable offense on this Board! ---

So @cincinnatus, back to the Tundra, how long for the fix? Whatcha drivin’ in the meantime? Or are you staying at home drinking coffee and eating warm croissants? It’s spaghetti for dinner here. Oh, and cat food. I don’t think the cats would like my spaghetti. ---

Yes, I hate the “stalls at red lights” feature! My car has it too, but it only needs to be corrected once. I need a haircut, but finding a place to go and gearing myself up to chit-chat with the stylist is such a roadblock that I might just let it go until I can wipe my ass with it. ---

With permission, I drove my wife’s car. Followed, to my dismay, by a tractor with a snowblower after our first lake effect snow of the season. Wet and heavy snow. Then a hot shower to warm up. And dinner. Followed by a brandy. And Bob’s your uncle, here I sit in front of a fire. It took my highly skilled mechanic six hours on this Tundra over two days. And @Dung_Beetle my brother-in-law wipes his ass with a bristle brush, right after his meal of oats. The ass’ meal, that is. (I had hoped more mods would hijack. Since they aren’t, can I report them to be given a member’s note?) ---

I’m a guy with a very basic haircut - I clip to a 5 on the top and a 3 in the back. Comes out pretty well, I can do it any time of day, and I never have to talk to anyone during it! ---

I’m not a guy and I’ve been using clippers through the whole pandemic. It was easier while everything was on Zoom because no one could see the back, but I’ve gotten better at that. ---

You can shut dentists (or hygienists) up by gently biting their fingers. Just enough to prove a point, not enough to draw blood. Tougher to do the same with hairdressers. 😉 ---

I used to go in for a cleaning and suffer through non-stop chitter-chatter, much of which I was asked to respond to with a pair of hands in my mouth. I always had to recover by spending a half hour sitting in the car all alone, in complete silence. Then I learned to come in with earbuds in. “Hope you don’t mind, I’m listening to an audiobook; a detective novel, and it’s at a really exciting part.” She said no problem, but as soon as she got her hands and tools in my mouth she started asking me about the book… but gave up when she was convinced I couldn’t hear a thing. . Sorry for the non-hijack… hey, how 'bout them Black Sox? Almost made the playoffs! ---

I don’t plan to decorate, due to cats. I do observe Christmas as a religious holiday, and would like to be able to display some of my Nativities, but I have two cats who get into things, intentionally knock stuff down, and chase around with little to no regard for what might be in their flight path. Yes, I do love the furry brats :). My husband strongly objects to decorations, Christmas-theme movies or music, and such at least until Thanksgiving evening (he’s happier with waiting until the next day). About the only holiday movie he’d be inclined to tolerate at this point is “Nightmare Before Christmas”, which he likes, but only considers appropriately timed as of Halloween. ---

From my vantage at home I can see windows and balconies of hundreds of apartments and condos at various distances. Saw my first window outlined in colored lights last night. I can only see a few single-family houses from here and these are, frankly, mostly mansions of the definitely-not-Mc variety. No lights there yet. Down my hallway at my building there’s at least one Christmas wreath up. Our lobby has been fully decked out for a few days now. The Christmas tree was up just after our Halloween party and relevant decorations was taken down. ---

I’m starting to see scatterings of decorations in my area. The only decorations I personally do is for my cabin while I’m at Disney for a week in December, and I’m not there yet.
