Also, “spiffy” sounds just as it should! 🙂

MOIST!

hahA! Moist! Moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist moist!

he he he he…_super_ moist!

Dang, the word even sounds moist. Y’know, I just asked 5 wimmin here that I work with what they thought of the word “moist.” They all looked at me like I was insane. Worse than usual, I mean. And then, years of training kicked in!

'sjust a word innit?
[/QUOTE]

It’s funny you should bring this up. I recently heard an episode of KPBS’s _A Way With Words_ in which a caller described some kind of pathological revulsive reaction she had to the word _moist_. Her husband and children were not permitted to say the word around her. The hosts of the show mentioned that this is a known phenomenon and that they had found some kind of group on the Internet made up of people who couldn’t stand the word _moist_.

As for inherently funny words, I was browsing a Spanish discussion board on model planes the other day, and the translation software (I wouldn’t have lasted fifteen seconds browsing _in_ Spanish) suddenly popped up the word “sausage” in a context where “sausage” made no sense at all. Let’s face it, when you’re discussing model planes there are tanj few contexts where “sausage” does make any sense. I have to say I snerked out loud at that.

I think scrotum is the unsexiest word ever. My boyfriend is strictly forbidden from saying “scrotum” when we’re getting it on, as it’s a complete turn-off for me. He’s free to use any other slang or euphemisms when making requests.

Oo, “euphemism,” there’s a fun word.

Anyway, it was referred to before, but my onomatopoeic word is “baby.” Doesn’t it just sound as though it should mean baby? Bonus points if you pronounce it with a really explosive initial B and vowels that are as short as possible.

Kids today, no respect for classic literature! Larry Niven made up this [word](http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/TANJ) and used it in some of his books, including the [Ringworld](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringworld) ones – it’s an expletive meaning “there ain’t no justice”. See also Heinlein’s [TANSTAAFL](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanstaafl) for choice vintage geek-chic swearing.

I think if you had no prior knowledge at all as to what it was, if you were presented with a moist, slightly clammy puddle of sperm, you would instinctively call it ‘sperm’.
