Very nice [column](http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mbluecheese.html), **Una** , but one cannot invite Gordon Jump around for tea because he’s obtained the consistency of [moldy cheese](http://www.usatoday.com/life/2003-09-22-jump-obit_x.htm) himself. (In other words, he’s dead.) ---

Ed has changed the “Gordon Jump” reference to “Maytag repairman”. Now I imagine that there will be someone telling me that the Maytag repairman is actually now a woman, and that it’s now spelled “Mai-Tahg” after being bought out by a Chinese-German conglomerate, and that she doesn’t really “repair” so much as “re-synergizes the components so they can co-actualize out of their shame spiral”…actually, that sounds kinda neat. I think I’ll use that in a Powerpoint next week. ---
