MsWhatsit, it’s hospital policy that keeps me from being allowed near the water with an active (i.e. running) IV. Once I’m through with whatever meds I need, the nurse can put in a hep lock and I can shower to my little heart’s content. And there are no tubs in any of the rooms, just showers. (I asked about all this a few days ago.)
