I saw it, but here 40 minutes afterward, I can’t remember much about it, or whether I liked it or not. Ummmm. I remember I was eating corned beef brisket and cabbage at the time. Oh, I thought translating ‘coffee and a donut’ to ‘an americano and a beignet’ was funny. I doubt they’ll do the eating a lizard gag, these guys are metro-erectus. Keep your penis in your genus. Words to live by. Or not, the hot cave chick who works at the bookstore with the cat’s eye glasses and the tongue stud sounds intriguing. OK, maybe I remember a bit. It was OK, but I don’t watch much TV, so my bar is low. Watching TV is like visiting a foreign country to me. ---

I can’t believe it, but I actually laughed once or twice. Maybe just once, actually, when the one guy said he couldn’t work on his thesis because Wikipedia was down. Still, that’s more than I laughed at any of the other freshman comedies this year, so bravo. Aside from that it ranged from mildly amusing to “whoa they’re trying too hard” (like the restraining order joke from the other guy at the Ikea place). Oh yeah, I chuckled at the name of that place. Norskbild or something? Not bad. 😃 I’ll give it another week if I can find the time to watch another episode. ---

I smiled at the framed cave paintings on the wall. That’s more than I did for “Carpoolers.” My god, what a horrible, joyless, unfunny piece of dreck that was. I was expecting better from Bruce McCullough. Has he had a stroke or something? what happened to his ability to write comedy? Isn’t comedy supposed to have some funny in it? I actually thought it was worse than the Cavemen show. ---

I thought they would use the characters the way they were in the commercials, sophisticated and smart. At least two of these guys are just losers. I might give it one more shot, but I’m not impressed. ---

I actually thought it was funnier than most sitcoms I’ve seen. That’s not saying much, but I’ve seen worse stuff stay on the air. I liked the cave painting on the wall. I thought the actors did a pretty good good job (just stupid stuff like when he’s watching the cave weatherman and he’s going, “I love this guy”). I liked the “penis/genus” joke. They didn’t have to point out every gag. Watching them play Wii was funny. I liked how the dude was playing online poker and tells his buddy he’s working on his dissertation, and had stuff to do on wikipedia. Lack of a laughtrack is always good. But, then I missed the last 10 minutes, and I watched a replay of Curb Your Enthusiasm at 8:30 so no “Poolers” for me. ---

I was terribly disappointed. I was hoping for the “astonishingly bad” I’d heard it was, but it mildly amusing. I liked how it jumped right in with only the teeniest backstory–studios should shitcan most pilots like they did with the one for “Cavemen.” “Carpoolers” stunk from the beginning. ---

Maybe there’s something wrong with me, but I kinda liked it. It’s better than “King of Queens,” “According to Jim,” and all those other tastes-like-chicken sitcoms CBS put out for years. ---

I didn’t expect it would be good, and came upon it accidentally. I started watching it about 10 minutes in and liked it. I thought the humor was intelligent and clever, the kind you need to pay attention to catch sometimes. I don’t go for slapstick-goofy stuff, and most of this wasn’t like that. It might have been funny even without the cavemen aspect, as nerdish humor. ---

I kept waiting for it to start…but nothing really happened and then it was over. The thing that disappointed me most about the show was that the cavemen were just like homo sapiens…only with more hair and thicker foreheads. There is alot more that can be done with the “Caveman in the modern world” theme than just making them whiny yuppie slackers. (no offense to whiny yuppie slackers intended of course) Think “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer”. I might give it one more shot but I doubt it. Wasted potential!!! ---

[/QUOTE] One thing that I liked about the Geico commercials was that the cavemen always had a “better than sapiens” air about them. Like they considered themselves more evolved? That, to me, was what made the Geico commercials humorous. That quality is nowhere to be found in this show. Maybe they don’t have the right actors playing the main characters? ---

I ended up thinking someone had written a really horrible sitcom about two Jewish losers and then changed the phrase Jewish Guy to Caveman when he was told that Jewish jokes are passe these days. ---
