That Pogo version of Monopoly is fun. You have _millions_ of dollars and all the properties have different, more modern names. New York, London, Beijing, et cetera.

I was only playing as a guest so I don’t know the different options you can set, but as a guest playing against the computer, it limited us to 35 turns. Which was right when things started getting interesting. If there _must_ be a turn limit, 45 or 50 is where the max should be.

And god damn it, I really should be going to sleep, but I wanna keep playing.

_sigh_

This is the most dumb game of Monopoly ever. I own three Railroad equivalents and that’s it. \>\_\<

I had a similar problem when I tested the Pogo version – the computer players wound up with more properties than me, I had two of the Greens and only one of any other group, and had no way to trade for the third Green. Then one of the computer players kept trying to buy one of my Greens for cash, not trade.

**Covered In Bees!** and **asterion** , we’ll set up an online game at some point.

Sorry I’m late… but yes, you’re pretty much dead on.

“I’ll give you Boardwalk in exchange for Baltic, Reading, and immunity from Park Place and Boardwalk for three turns” type of thing. BRUTAL.

Actually, I ended having the highest value for most the game (but didn’t win it, which I’ll get to). No other player (CPU Bots) had a monopoly, so the rent was _very_ low and somehow I ended up with 25+/- thousand dollars in straight up cash, which put me higher than anyone else.

I said to myself, damn I’ve got a lot of money and everyone else is hurtin’ for it for some reason. So I picked up a monopoly of the two most expensive properties.

But while I was doing that, the other CPU players were off doing their own trades and completing their own monopolies.

So at this point, half the board was mortgaged because the CPU characters had to pay for those houses and shit somehow. The other half of the board was monopolized and each property had at least two houses.

So now of course if you land on almost any property you either pay nothing because it’s mortgaged or pay _out the ass_ because it’s got a ton of fancy houses built on it.

So after spending all that money buying those properties and building houses on them, _no one_ lands on them anymore or on my railroads. So spent most of my money only to have my cash flow die immediately afterwards.

Oh and of course I land on some bitches property that costs $7,500 to stay in. I land on that twice in two rounds and I was practically bankrupt right off the bat. I just declared CPU 2 the winner and the other two CPU players voted for him as well.

Do you know if it’s possible to actually manipulate the rules without being some “premium” member of Pogo? Also, is it possible to set up private games? After my bad beat as described above, I’ve been looking at other games. 😛

I signed up for Pogo, and I’ll give it a try.

In theory, a premium membership gets exclusive access to the club suites, better known as playing games with other paid members. A free membership allows access to Classic, Fast, Typical Family, and Custom games of Monopoly.

Although – what non-classic rules would you want?

I don’t know about private games, though.

Well it seems that landing on Free Parking gives you some money as the default rule. Not a built up amount and not all that much in the grand scheme of things, but it would be nice to turn it off if someone was that opposed to making money off free parking.

See, that’s why I always have my bombs surrounding my wool, with my Marshall guarding it.

**Chessic Sense** , there’s other good uses for the bombs too. Are you familiar with the Sergeant Trap?

And there’s only one L in the rank “marshal.” I hate hate HATE Castle Risk for never fixing that misprint, among other reasons.
