Curiosity got the better of me, so I researched **Short Line** and discovered the phrase is a descriptor — a shortline railroad is a small or mid-sized railroad company that operates over a relatively short distance relative to larger, national railroad networks.There are 603 shortlines in the nation. The Monopoly SLRR is based on the historic Shore Fast Line. Research rules! We all need to take a ride on the Aitchison, Topeka and Santa Fe. Pardon me, boy, is this the Transylvania station? ---

The Reading Railroad is of course long gone, but the Reading Terminal in Philly is an active and vibrant shopping center in the heart of the downtown. If you are ever in Philly, be sure to visit it. ---
