Semi-hijack…as far as other Halloween songs go, I have “Monster Mash” on a compilation CD called _Monster Mash Rock & Roll Party_, sold in those Halloween stores that crop up across the country starting in late September. I was surprised to just find out that John Zacherle’s (“Zacherley/Roland the Cool Ghoul”) _Dinner With Drac_ song predated _Monster Mash_ by four years. ---

[/QUOTE] Years ago I read an article about the guy that sang the gimmick song “The Martian Hop.” While it didn’t set him for him for life, he did say that he got a few checks for ten thousand bucks back in the day when two thousand could buy you quite a nifty Cadillac. ---

I have to admit that I’m probably the only person in America who cannot hum this song to himself right now. I’m sure I’d recognize it if I heard it. However, I warrant that I’m the only person in this thread who lives in Bobby Pickett’s hometown. ---

This is one of my 5-year old’s favorite songs. We downloaded it just for him (on his CD, it immediately follows the Chipmunks version of “Witch Doctor”). I sent an email to my husband this morning about this and he wrote back, “Don’t worry.
