# Monstrous fictional characters embraced by kids:

A few Halloweens ago I joked i should dress my kid up as the Saw guy…i received a lot of frowns from the people around me…as several kids dressed up as Darth Vader walked by.
Recently i saw an article about a kid dressed up as Loki who hugged a Disneyland Loki actor and everyone said how adorable it was…ok, I havent got further than Avengers I in the MCU list, but no matter what kind of redemption arc he’s had…he’s Osama Bin Laden times 1,000.
You know how many people must have died in Avengers I???

The hockey mask guy, was it Mike Meyers (sp). I used to see them all the time on Halloween.

The hockey mask is Jason Voorhees. (And in the 5th movie, Roy Burns, as Jason actually remained dead for that movie.)
Michael\* Meyers wore a modified\*\* Captain Kirk mask.
The other two major slasher characters from the 80s were Freddie Kreuger (trademark image: burn scars, striped sweater, bladed glove) and Leatherface (trademark: human skin mask and apron).
- Not only do the movies only ever use Michael’s full first name, _Mike_ Meyers is an actor and, so far as we know, NOT an immortal serial killer.
\*\* The eyeholes were enlarged, and the whole thing was painted white.

I’m not seeing anything wrong with that costume for a kid on Halloween. Seems pretty cool, actually.

My son has particular fondness for Slenderman and Kylo Ren. He watches too much YouTube and is familiar with Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, Jeff the killer and knows all the names of the Five nights at Freddy’s animatronics. I filled him in on Jigsaw.

Right, even your traditional costumes are terrifying spirits of the dead, blood sucking creatures of the night, and an undead abomination raised by unholy science. I.e. Ghosts, Dracula and Frankenstein.

I seem to recall Mike was married at one time to a pretty violent woman, though.
MCU Loki & Vader are seriously misunderstood people.
2nd vote for Ronald McDonald. As mentioned, kids assuming the role of Monstrous Fictional Characters is sort of the purview of Halloween. A diabetes-pedaling clown who works year round is truly a monster.
