Ok, after today I will be pretty much out of contact because I’m out of town for work all week. I’m trying to decide if I can justify installing the msn software on the company laptop. Otherwise, if anything changes, post it, and I’ll plan on checking in here when I get back into Atlanta Friday evening. ---

I’m the fireworks _master_. My preferred way of viewing them would have required **Lsura** to belay a challenging intermediate urban climb that was recently made more difficult because of the construction on the Jacques-Cartier bridge. Feel free to use any of my tourist tips, the ones I mentioned are no longer jealously guarded secrets. If I want info on visiting churches I’ll give you a call. ---

Well, that’s me told. Me **yow.** Anyway, the plans are now finalized for Saturday, July 21, at 9:30 in Papineau metro near the turnstiles. Speak now or forever hold your peace, folks; I don’t want to be standing there alone brandishing a cardboard sign like an idiot for half an hour 🙂 ---

As I told Matt in an e-mail, I’ll be on the eastern pedestrian walkway over the northern shore of Ile Ste.-Helene with a radio for the start of the fireworks at 10h00 sharp. You’ll have to run through a huge crowd not to be late. I’d have loved to witness the extravagant spectacle of y’all trying to stick close to a guy holding an (english-only!) sign in the Papineau metro as half of Montreal floods out of the turnstiles and tries to negotiate its way around you but I’m a bit claustrophobic. Someone take a picture, heh heh. ---

I’ll go ahead and warn y’all that I don’t meet new people easily-and I tend to panic and not show-it’s this damn shyness factor. I’m already stressed and it’s a full 24 hours before the planned meeting time. I’m going to _try_ to make myself do this-but I’ll admit to skipping 3(I think) Atlanta ones before I finally made it to one. I’m doing my best to get up my courage, y’all. I really hope to meet everyone. ---

Seriously though, I’m a big badass in my mind, but I’m really a pussycat, and not at all strange, really! If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable I’ll slice them up with a rusty scimitar and wear their skin. No, but really, seriously, if you can handle pushing through a dense crowd to a point 300 feet above water as loud explosions pop all around you, meeting strangers will be a cakewalk. Not helping? Anyway, eunoia, Lsura, LaurAnge, Dewt, Dylan, we missed you tonight! Never fear, however; if you happen to read this thread in the next ten hours, we’re meeting atop the escalators at Mont-Royal metro (orange line, two stops north of Berri-UQAM) at twelve noon to go see the tamtams. And there’s no reason we can’t try the fireworks again on Wednesday night! What do you think? ---

Ok, I bailed(read: panicked at the thought of meeting new people) on Saturday. I did manage to get up the nerve and met **matt\_mcl** and **detop** Monday night(thanks guys). My apologies to **Mnementh** and **Cerowyn** for this. We really did have a great time during the trip. I won about $100 CDN at the casino, even though mom was the one who wanted to go there. I’m absolutely exhausted at the moment, and will sleep for about 13 hours tonight in an attempt to recover from vacation. Y’all really have a fantastic city there-I’m glad we went. ---
