I saw it at the Vogue Theater in Louisville, Kentucky, and I was a total Monty Python virgin until that night in the 90s.
The theater had a stage in front of the screen; we all rushed it and did the can-can during the Knights of the Round Table musical number. The owner wasn’t pleased.
I saw a midnight show in the '90s. I was annoyed by several wags who tried to say “I got better” at the same time as in the film, but who woefully miscalculated the timing.
They’re still muffing that line, like they did at the showing I saw at the theater earlier this year on the anniversary.
May he rest in peace. It’s great movie trivia that he played both roles. I’ll bet Vader wouldn’t mess with Jesus!
