Moon Knight Reportedly Being Developed For Netflix

Good points, but-

Anything that far off, especially with the lead role not even being cast and no director, is more or less just phantasms. It does look like they’re going to do another fucking stupid origin story film, however.

Inhumans is also a definite maybe. Rumors.

IMDB has Black Panther 16 February 2018 (USA), but no director as yet…

Assuming that the “Hulk” in question is the 2003 Ang Lee / Eric Bana film…none of those were made by Marvel Studios (which, admittedly, wasn’t yet around when the final two films on the list were made).

They are still films with Marvel characters, licensed by Marvel. And, is Marvel studios doing Moon Knight?

They’re still not what people mean when they talk about “Marvel movies.”

Sorry, should have been clearer when I noted that.

Prior to the establishment of Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics licensed out use of many of their characters to other studios, and lacked much (if any?) control over what was done with those characters. While some of those turned out well (mostly Fox, with the X-Men), a lot of those films wound up being mediocre to poor.

The “Marvel Cinematic Universe” movies are being done by Marvel Studios, and have, for the most part, been among the best-received of all the movies based on Marvel characters.

I’m not positive, but I suspect that Marvel Studios / Disney would be working on Moon Knight, since they are involved with Netflix’s Daredevil series, and all of the new projects with Marvel characters (not including those older licenses which are still out there) are being developed in-house.

It was an okay adaptation of a second-rate comic.

Many of those would probably require more special effects than most TV shows can afford. The way economics currently work, you can put 50 million dollars worth of special effects into a 2 hour movie, but a 1 hour TV show that costs 1 million dollars is considered expensive.

I found the Ben Affleck movie surprisingly enjoyable. I still haven’t gotten around to finishing the Netflix version; I find it pretty dull.

Look, I’m not saying you have bad taste, but

I agree with the first-- the movie isn’t as bad as its reputation. In fact it still has THE BEST superhero scene in any movie–when DD comes home from a night of do-gooding and you see how torn to hell his body is, he takes a handful of pain killers and then goes to sleep in a sensory deprivation chamber to block out the sounds to the city-- sirens, screams etc. and the look on his face is so weary–he knows it will never be enough. THAT’S a fucking great scene about being a superhero.

The Netflix show is very talk and slow paced but, I think it pays off so well.
