Obviously nobody went to the Moon, because it’s a long way and there are no refuelling stations.

More importantly, the $20 billion was spent on bribing people to play along.
An astronomer (Phil Plait for example) gets more than me - which is fair.
I just enter threads like this and poke fun - it’s a living. 🆒
Eventually some auditor will blow the whole thing open, but I’ve been paid for 35 years now, so what do I care?

as **Valgard** points out, the Russians did send missions to the moon, but they were unmanned. And more than two. From his provided link you can also get to the entry on the **Luna** missions, which actually took and returned lunar samples to the Earth:

> **[Luna programme](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_program)**
>
> The Luna programme (from the Russian word Луна "Luna" meaning "Moon"), occasionally called Lunik by western media, was a series of robotic spacecraft missions sent to the Moon by the Soviet Union between 1959 and 1976. 29 were failures and 15 were successful, each designed as either an orbiter or lander, and accomplished many firsts in space exploration. They also performed many experiments, studying the Moon's chemical composition, gravity, temperature, and radiation.
> Twenty-four spacecraft ...

I was floored many years ago when I saw an exhibit of Soviet lunar craft at a Museum after the fall of the Soviet Union. I had no idea they had landed robotic craft on the Moon, let alone brought back moon rocks. I don’t recall heariung or readinmg about them at the time, or later. Even now there see,ms to be little public awareness of these efforts. As this thread indicates.

That’s EXACTLY why I don’t trust the media! I thought I was quite aware of what was going on in the 90s but did I see a SINGLE story about the Eugenics Wars? That should’ve been front-page news! The same thing happened when the Robinsons’ colonizing spacecraft was launched in 1997. Important science news, no? But the media couldn’t stop talking about Monica Lewinsky long enough to cover it and now the Robinsons have fallen off the radar so far they could be lost in space, for all we know.

Shameful. Just shameful.

Just as well, all things considered.
I’m annoyed that they didn’t cover HAL’s birthday at the Computer Museum in Boston (really – I had to tell them about it). The REAL birthday – the one in the book. (By the time the one in the movie rolled around, there was no more Computer Museum anymore.)

I respectfully disagree. Penny was hot and is sorely missed. Judy was physically attractive but such a mental and personal blank that it would be like necrophillia. Not that you could think any negative thoughts about her, though, since her little brother would put you in the cornfield just as soon as look at you.

Quit dancing around your subject and give us your real question (and/or agenda).

And for the record, if this is a stupid “we never landed on the moon” thread, before you waste our time with the same old bullshit arguments, please read, in their entirety, the previous discussions we’ve had on the topic. Links will be provided on request. Bottom line, if you’re going to try to assert the “Apollo hoax” point of view, at least do us the courtesy of coming up with some new arguments.

If this is not an “Apollo hoax” thread, then stop being coy and tell us what it’s about.

What’s seriously cool is that the Russians, AFAIK, are the only ones to have ever landed several probes on Venus. Think about that - Venus! How awesome is that? A bunch of the little probes sent back pictures of the surface and have taken sample before they melted. Most have lasted about an hour. I find this beyond fascinating.
