I feel ya on the 70s and 80s Packer teams. Been a fan since when I was 10 (1965) and suffered through those years right along with you. But I also love football and when the Packers were (and now are) out of contention I always temporarily become a bandwagon fan of a team in the AFC that has a shot of playing through to the Super Bowl. This year the Chiefs; but still watch the Packers. I tried to go with other NFC teams but just can not stand any of the good ones, lol. I always remember what they did to us (yes US, I’m an owner) in years past.
I remember things like 4th and 26 or Bostick and NOT HIS JOB fook up of an onside kick. And to root for the Viqueens, Bears or Lions would bring my dad and grand dad back from the dead to plant a boot in my Ditka.
I don’t look at it as a loyalty issue but a bandaid for the rest of the season. I have to have some interest in one of the teams playing or I just can’t watch a game.
There’s always next year, right?
