Oh, great. My new BFF. Trooper Meany-pants with mirror shades and quick trigger finger on his ink pen and ticket slips. I think I will have to set up a little trick. This could turn into some real fun, if I don’t get arrested or shot. Maybe I better re-think this. Hmmm?😉 ---

‘Boxcar Bertha’ and ‘The Legend of Boggy Creek’ were filmed close to here. S. Arkansas is known for its poorly paved, curvy roads. My biggest fear is getting stranded on this particular highway. Cell service is spotty, No houses. Little traffic. And, of course the Trooper will not be around that day. If the deer don’t kill me I’ll die trying to walk outta there. I don’t think y’all really understand how far back in the boonies I live. I had to buy my own electric poles when we built our house. ---

In a way that actually sounds quite lovely, though I can see that isolation is a double-edged sword, so to speak. But from your stories so far it seems that if you run into a problem on the road all you have to do is pull over and park on the shoulder, and your BFF will be along in a moment, ticket-book in hand! This particular trooper sounds like a trooper who truly loves his job, and doesn’t take a lot of time off! 😃 ---

I like to say that we live literally out in the middle of nowhere! Electric poles? We’ve got solar panels and a backup generator! I do love living here. I couldn’t take neighbor issues or traffic. We have solar panels and a generator too, for when a bird lands on the electric pole ( my power goes off at a steady clip) I actually sell power back to the Co-op who powers us. I made $42 this month. ---

How do you get Internet out there, BTW? Question for all of you who live that far out. I’m just about 10 minutes out from a small city, so I actually have choices: cable or DSL. Currently on DSL with no data caps and a locked in plan, but considering switching to cable due to prices coming down. ---

Yeah, since the two times he’s had contact with me I’ve been at s dead stop. If I go flying down the road he may not even notice me. I have decided Trooper Meany-pants is in his dotage. I think he’s gotten sent to this road because he’s counting down til retirement or something. I bet I’m just a big ol’ burr in his saddle. ETA, for who asked I have Hughesnet. It ain’t super fast. But it’s better than the alternative, which is ‘nothing’ ---

We got Hughesnet, also. We upgraded to the fast stuff, sort of. At least it’s here at the house, and I don’t have to go War Driving. My son-in-law, who has the best of the best in his home, was very frustrated with our service. He did some research to find “better” and we ended up keeping Hughesnet. I live out in the middle of nowhere. But by Gawd, I have running water, flush toilets, major appliances, internet, and DirecTV. I am too damned old to be roughing it! ~VOW ---
