Once I went to a party at a gay friend’s house wearing a slinky dress. He greeted me with “Oo! Girlfriend, you look _nasty._” It was the highest praise.

Presumably a euphemism for ass?

I chuckled. Great turn of phrase. Thank you.

The phrase filthy rich (to describe someone like Musk) is very old. I probably heard it when I was a kid.

Great example. I’m curious if other languages do something similar — I assume “yes”, but don’t know any examples. Good idea for a FQ thread.

Fire can’t be 6/7, because 6/7 isn’t anything.

6/7 was fire, but I think it’s mostly burned out now.

I believe the appropriate phrasing is 6/7 is cooked.

What do you mean by “something similar”?

Japanese slang also uses negative words as positive expressions.

There is a word やばい _yabai_ meaning “terrible” or “dangerous”, so of course kids use it to mean fantastic / wonderful / great.

You understood perfectly – using negative words to denote something positive.
