Oh, I’m far from squeamish when it comes to food. I’ve eaten snake in Taiwan and China, fried grasshoppers)bar food on a dare) and dog in Korea, boiled duck fetus in the Philippines, and I love toasted and salted seaweed with beer. I just don’t like the idea of having weird additives in my ice cream. When I eat ice cream, I want it from pure milk, sugar, and natural flavorings. Maybe it’s just me, but the idea of boiled goo from the unappetizing bits of a cow in ice cream just puts me off. Yes, I know it’s from the same animal, and yes, I know how milk is produced, it’s just an irrational reaction. It’s like the idea that there are insect legs in chocolate. I know it’s just protein and it can’t harm me, but just the idea… (shudder) And **Doobieous** …ummm, I’ve had no complaints. 😃 ---

I agree that seaweed and gelatin are normal, edible food items, but I agree with **goboy** that one’s personal food preferences are indeed personal, and no amount of logic will make you change your mind. I for one would rather eat creamy, delicious and animal byproducty Blizzards from DQ than eat okra. I am led to believe that okra is a foodstuff with no additives, yet it still manages to have the consistancy of snot. What is up with DQ and the whole ice cream + natural disaster/weather phenomona menu items? Might we see a Chocolate Swirl Sinkhole? Strawberry Swamp Gas? Lemonade Low Pressure Front? Plague of Locusts Parfait? Feel free to pass these along to higher management. 😉 I think I have to go have a Blizzard now. Mmmmmmmmm. ---

One of the best things about growing up in East Texas is there is a Dairy Queen in just about every small town. I loved them. Since I moved to Arkansucks I can’t seem to find one. It is with much fondness that I say: [homer]mmmmmm…Dairy Queeeeeeeen[/homer] Noting like going into the the Dairy Queen in Sherman at 7:00am and getting a Country Basket AND an order of Tacos! ---

And actually carageenan helps to prevent ice crystals from forming in ice cream, so i welcome it! 😃 ---

Could it be a regional thing? By the way…there were signs all over the store advertizing Grape Something Blizzards. (Grape Explosion Blizzards, maybe?) EeeEEeew! It’s grape Kool-Aid (advertized as such) mixed with grape-flavored pop-rocks in a Blizzard. I repeat: EeeEEeew! Have you ever had anyone order one? Have you actually seen anyone _drink_ one? Did they survive? A more adventurous buddy of mine was considering trying it, just to see if it was a bad as it sounded but the (excellent) young lady behind the counter said “It’s a new item and we’ve had lots of comments about it!” while at the same time vigorously shaking her head “No” and making a “Yuckky face”. As far as I’m concerned,_THAT’S_ customer service! I thanked her for being so great. On the other hand: Why is it (usually) treated as weird to want malt powder in a Bannana Split Blizzard? It tastes better that way! And why does ordering a Mr. Misty that’s a mixture of Cherry and Lemon-Lime occasionally get weird looks? Granted, the resultant product is an unappealing brownish-green but it tastes good! I’ve only had a DQ say “No” once, but I do occasionally get the same slack-jawed stares of which **Ginger** speaks. I _like_ soft serve ice cream. I go to DQ often to enjoy the lovely Peanut Buster Parfaits. But, now **goboy** has spoiled it for me. I think that each franchise chooses what flavors they want to carry, so some have Pecan Cluster, others have Whopper or Pumpkin. Mmmm… pumpkin blizzard. Unlikeliest flavor ever… sooo good… want one now… ---
