I don’t know what the particular brand of joke is called, but here’s another in the same vein … “Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. Yeah, as I said in my edit, it’s a pop culture reference. I saw the movie once, but I’ve never heard of her. I’m terrible with actors’ names, except the ones I grew up watching. ---

The confusing part, which I take was intended as the funny part, was why ‘Cheddar’ didn’t want to reveal her sister’s name. From what I read upthread, it seems that the joke is that Brie Larson played Captain America in a movie. I’ve only seen it once (or at least, I think I did – all of the Marvel movies seem the same to me), but I gather that Captain America has an actual name that is a big secret, and there must be a plot point about trying to reveal her identity. ---
